Willy nilly moving? Not at all, what makes you say that? During the housing boom people were moving from starter homes to family homes, based on schools for their kids. Better districts attracted higher income couples, more expensive houses, higher taxes, better schools. Rinse, repeat.

Look, I understand you don't like your "designated school", but you made that choice when buying in that location, knowing full well vouchers weren't offered and the school probably "sucked", right? Didn't matter so much when you were DINKY, or didn't plan on being a parent, I have no idea....

You're both well employed, you do have the option of selling and moving to get into the district you like, but the housing market sucks (in most areas) and not enough people have jobs and income to kick it back into gear. Not sure how going off on the voucher tangent matters here, except for unemployed or poor families who still want their kids in good schools, and are stuck in their shitty neighborhoods/school districts.
