Although the original story made me feel all warm on the inside, this story actually made me smile.

Only thing that would make it better if he had also been charged with attempted murder. The gun went off, seems like a clear case of attempted murder. And besides what jury is going to return a non-guilty verdict regardless of weather he formed intent to murder or if went off accidentally. The guy deserves to be in prison, and the longer the sentence the better.
