Thread: LOL - I love these comments!

I was more interested in the punishment aspect--from Lewk's perspective--than in the self-defense aspect.

Re. shooting twice, does it matter? Only one shot hit. Or do his intentions matter? Is "heat of the.moment" a valid defense in that case, if he was capable of thinking that the man needed another shot and then acting on that thought? In the end his own defense seems to have hinged almost entirely on what he actually did rather than on what he thought, felt or wanted. I urge you to not kill people on the tube.

One of the reasons I don't use mass transit. There's a much lower potential for unintended casualties and over-penetration and such when you're putting a round into the guy who just cut you off on the freeway and like that there.

I don't really have a problem with that one, if what is reported is actually reality (I don't doubt it). The shooting, that is. Charging the guy who ran away with murder (in the 1st, to boot!) is iffy, however.

Did anyone note the huge age discrepancy between the widow and the late husband, though?

Thats how a self defense law is supposed to be used.

Not the bullshit we are currently dealing with down here.

I did, but then I noticed this is Oklahoma.

    Looks like negligent homicide.
Hope is the denial of reality

Another case where almost all the comments are universally on the side of the person defending their home.

Incidentally I find it hilarious that the other robber faces murder charges due to the Oklahoma laws.

Yeah, you would. I do hope that you yourself will wind up on the wrong side of one of those "hilarious" laws of yours so that you can see for yourself what a wonderful system you have over there.

People like you don't understand the problem until it comes right up and smacks them in the face.

I don't think Lewk will be trying to kill anyone unless they attack him first. Just my 2 cents. Once you attack, or threaten someone, my opinion is you've given up all a lot of your rights immediately.

Yeah, manslaughter charges are pretty generous in that case. Anyone whose solution to teenagers using a public recreation area is to flash a gun, ought to be held responsible for the consequences of that... whether it's shooting someone in the heart when he asks you not to flash a piece in front of his kid, or pulling it on the wrong teenager who returns fire, or whatever else.

In this case I am on the side of the defender as well.
