Just back from the cinema I switch on the TV and learn that Netanyahu is in Amsterdam tonight and in The Netherlands for the next two days. I had no idea a visit was planned at all.
    Congratulations America

Top Gear, well James May, called it the real new Mini, since the actual new Mini is a bit of a medium.

What makes me go WTF today is our dept losing a bet so we have to have NyanCat on all day today. I'm at 2000 seconds and losing the will to live.

Doesn't that fall under cruel and unusual punishment? Should be covered at least by the Geneva Conventions...

It should. I'm sure this will warp my fragile little mind and will leave irreparable damage.

Never have I longed for lunchbreak this much.

    You are insane
In the future, the Berlin wall will be a mile high, and made of steel. You too will be made to crawl, to lick children's blood from jackboots. There will be no creativity, only productivity. Instead of love there will be fear and distrust, instead of surrender there will be submission. Contact will be replaced with isolation, and joy with shame. Hope will cease to exist as a concept. The Earth will be covered with steel and concrete. There will be an electronic policeman in every head. Your children will be born in chains, live only to serve, and die in anguish and ignorance.

I bought a small box of Friskies Indoor Delights (cat food) because it was on sale. I was going to use it as a casual 'treat' for my cats, but they stopped eating their normal dry food (Iams or Purina Pro)....waiting patiently, and using their pleading eyes and pretty meows for this Friskies Food. I looked at the side panel of the box, thinking catnip or some other feline intoxicant was in there.....

The ingredients list takes up most of the whole box side panel! The front of the box says it promotes healthy weight, helps control hairballs, and provides 100% of "complete and balanced nutrition for adult indoor cats", check marks for protein, essential fatty acids, vitamin A and Taurine, plus anti-oxidants.

Nowhere does it say they added catnip or kitty weed. But their recipe is clearly "addictive" to cats somehow. After they eat battle each other for the crunchy treats, they get an opioid look of pleasure in their eyes, purrr a while, then fall fast asleep. They awake in a drowsy state, which is always sweet in cats, because they stretch and mew and purr..... but pretty soon they start tweaking for the Friskies Food!

What's in this (Purina) cat food, anyway? Kitty Crack?

I don't know GGT, but P6 goes insane if she doesn't get a spoonful every 4 to 6 hours!

So, I bought a frozen garlic bread because the store was out of the garlic texas toast I like! As I was putting it away, I read on the side of the bag" CAUTION remove bread from bag before putting in the oven! The fact that there is a warning on it means some one was stupid enough to actually leave the bread in the plastic bag when they were heating it!
I don't have a problem with authority....I just don't like being told what to do!Remember, the toes you step on today may be attached to the ass you have to kiss tomorrow!RIP Fluffy! 01-07-09 I'm so sorry Fluffster! People who don't like cats were probably mice in an earlier life! My mind not only wanders, sometimes it leaves completely! The nice part about living in a small town: When you don't know what you're doing, someone else always does!

The train connection between Istanbul and Ankara was dramatic; it would take you 8 to 9 on an express train to cover the roughly 400 km between the two cities. So upgrading the system and putting in a high spreed train seemed like a good idea, but as usual Turkish authorities have chosen a crazy way to take care of the upgrade. It was announced, without too much prior notice, that all train services between Istanbul and Ankara have been suspended for the next 24 months.

Activists Fight Green Projects, Seeing U.N. Plot

Across the country, activists with ties to the Tea Party are railing against all sorts of local and state efforts to control sprawl and conserve energy. They brand government action for things like expanding public transportation routes and preserving open space as part of a United Nations-led conspiracy to deny property rights and herd citizens toward cities.

They are showing up at planning meetings to denounce bike lanes on public streets and smart meters on home appliances — efforts they equate to a big-government blueprint against individual rights.

“Down the road, this data will be used against you,” warned one speaker at a recent Roanoke County, Va., Board of Supervisors meeting who turned out with dozens of people opposed to the county’s paying $1,200 in dues to a nonprofit that consults on sustainability issues.

Local officials say they would dismiss such notions except that the growing and often heated protests are having an effect.

In Maine, the Tea Party-backed Republican governor canceled a project to ease congestion along the Route 1 corridor after protesters complained it was part of the United Nations plot. Similar opposition helped doom a high-speed train line in Florida. And more than a dozen cities, towns and counties, under new pressure, have cut off financing for a program that offers expertise on how to measure and cut carbon emissions...

Was going through the profiles of the Nazi leaders; noticed that a vast majority were Catholics/Bavarians. I guess this is what Bismarck gets for his Kulturkampf.

What's that thing about carts and horses? The movement made its original strides in Bavaria for several reasons, and I'm not convinced all were the fault of Catholicism. Or maybe I am misunderstanding you

As for the Nazi thing, I'm just amused that the part of the country that was never really considered German by Bismarck got Germany into such a giant mess.

Oh, well, at least it's only 13%.

Just yesterday some fellow teachers were talking about how homeopathy was helping them sooo much. Despite some urges to call them fools, I restrained myself, I have to work with those guys, after all

Thankfully enough, they don't teach the sciences or math.

They'll put themselves out of the gene pool eventually if they keep on favoring homeopathy to normal medicine.

One can only hope. And, by the way, Bavaria is still not considered to be really Germany by almost everyone in Germany. Including the Bavarians.

Bavaria is mostly catholic, so not that surprising to have a connection there.

    Haha good one.

There's not much in the world
    You could abide by
    Some says it's love
    Maybe that's true
    And there's always God
    If there's nobody else
    Others believe in nothing
    Life has made them hard

    So much can happen
    So much can happen
There's just one thing I know for sure:
Never in my life I would go to Bayern Munich

    I mean, if I was 20
    And supertalented
And Real Madrid had already asked me
    And the boys from Manchester
And I had also played for Germany already
    And were mentally fit
    And Uli Hoeneß would come
    To ask me

I would not open the door
Because for me it's out of questions
    To spoil my character
    Among people like the Bavarians

I just wanted to clarify this
So that we are on the same level
    I have nothing against Munich
I just would never go to Bavarians

Is something like his really necessary?
    Isn't life much too beautiful?
    To throw oneself away
And go to the FC Bayern

    So much can happen
    So much can happen
No matter how hard my fate was
I would never go to the FC Bayern Munich

What kind of parents do you need to have
    To be so spoiled
    To sign a contract
    With this sh*t team?

We would never go to the FC Bayern Munich!
    Never go the Bavarians!
We would never go to the FC Bayern Munich!
    Never go the Bavarians!

Well, what do you expect when they turn a (not very complex) board game into a full length Hollywood movie?

Are we talking about Battleship, or is there some other abomination that I should be aware of? They did make Clue into a movie though.

So a man was rescued today from a car that had been completely snowed in. At the moment it seems he'd been in that car for about two months, and survived on snow doctors think he may have gone into some form of hibernation after a while, with his body temperature somewhere around 31 degrees. Was found by a couple of people frolicking in the snow on snow-scooters, purely by chance. Guy hadn't been reported missing or anything. Bizarre story
