After 8 years using Mozilla/Firefox, I've just switched to Google Chrome. I do find it snappier and more responsive. One thing that put me off getting Chrome originally was the lack of a good AdBlock add-on, but I've just installed it and they got that now.

One thing I was a bit surprised at (but shouldn't necessarily have been I guess) was how cheeky Google is at integrating all their products. While adding on the AdBlock extension it provided a list of other apps to get and I was curious how there were so many game apps for an internet browser, how does that work? Tried getting one just to see only to realise at the end it was Google+ and not Google Chrome that it was getting added onto, but via Chromes menu. Cheeky. I didn't have Google+, but apparently I do now (have no intention of ever using it or switching from Facebook to that though yet).

Just curious what browsers people use now. Assume that nowadays we can have grown-up conversations about browsers and not fanbois.

I switched back to firefox just a week or so ago. I switch primary browser every now and then for various reasons, but usually prefer firefox. The greatest draws are the DownThemAll addon and the very aptly named AwesomeBar

As far as I understood, the Chrome apps work like similar computer app stores. I know I have Angry Birds in my Chrome, but I don't remember connecting it to a Google+ account. Only that my google profile includes the google+, just like gmail includes a youtube login (which includes a Google+, which includes a google sign in, etc and so on).

I use Chrome most often on all my machines at home. Its snappy, but I have noticed it fails to retrieve webpages far more often than my other browsers, especially SSL connections. Its always been like at, never figured out why.

What Chrome app was secretly Google+? Are you sure it just wasn't making you enter in your Google account info?

Chrome is great. But I maintain it's pretty unethical to actively block all the ads that fund the Internet you browse.

I am generally a Chrome fan. Though occasionally it occasionally randomly doesn't load pages. Happens to every browser, but happens with Chrome slightly more. Can't imagine why it would do that. Firefox has become such a memory whore I try not to load it. Safari has improved a lot, it's probably my second favorite.

BTW, last week I loaded the Chrome beta for my Android phone. It's rough around the edges, but fantastic and a great improvement on the stock browser.

Every time I go to gmail.com and Firefox stalls for a minute loading it (because of how Google does the redirect), I get this much closer to switching to Chrome, although I like how I have Firefox set up.

Ditto, I don't hate Chrome but I've been using Firefox so long and have my add-ons and shit so sorted that it is a bit like a comfy chair - it may be old, look crappy and smell bad but I feel at home when I'm using it.

Of course a time will come when the fancy new chair will get the better of me...

Its more in line with breaking from their elders. Its a crazy scenario thats been seen with the rise, fall, and rise of email and IMing between generations.
