Looks cool, that reminds me of something. We have one of those in the basement of our company:

I wonder if one could use it to make some interesting shaped jewlery.

It's an anniversary for To Kill a Mockingbird. It's one of my favorite books and favorite movies, and one of the few examples where cinema does justice to both. If you've never seen the original B & W movie, I'd urge you to find it and watch it. Gregory Peck does an amazing performance and brings the book to life, without giving any hint that it's been 'scripted'. The entire production is timeless, bittersweet, and very moving.

No cheating allowed, but Boo Radley was cast to an unknown actor, who later became a famous actor.

DOJ has finally sued Apple and a bunch of the larger and/or shittier publishers because of their ebook pricing scams/schemes.

Salmon and some other stuff en papillote (super easy, super quick, delicious horseradish sauce); picture doesn't do the colors justice

    The coffee/birdcherry/stuff parfait

Decided on a whim to go to a party, was fun. I've been extraordinarily sober lately and the beers were unusually strong so I quickly became wobbly. On the bright side I also felt warm so we went on a long walk afterwards to score delicious burgers. Hadn't hung out with my friends in a very long time, was nice to see one of my best mates and his fiancée together... they're ADORABLE. My ginger was ridiculously cute tonight <3 I have hiccups but the good kind

It's not just the colors, but that squishy circle around the salmon looks totally gross.

But your epicurean endeavors are otherwise quite entertaining.

Cheap Diablo-friendly computer will be mine tomorrow

Also delicious crispy moist roast chicken followed by fluffy flourless almond cake smothered in lemony white-chocolate mousse under a mountain of strawberries <3

The ex-mayor/mortician cooked me dinner this evening. I am working for him cleaning and painting the laundromat along with my own side business of a laundry service! He decided I needed a "treat" so he cooked me dinner! That man can COOK! Baked chicken with scalloped potatoes and broccoli, and coleslaw! MMMM!

So now the rumor around town is that he and I are "dating"! Dumbfucks here can't understand how a man and woman can be friends with no strings attached! Oh well, if they are talking about us, they are leaving someone else alone!

EDIT: It's raining! YAY! It is sooo dry around here that we have all been dreading anything that might spark a fire! As the song goes, "Where I come from, rain is a good thing!"
I don't have a problem with authority....I just don't like being told what to do!Remember, the toes you step on today may be attached to the ass you have to kiss tomorrow!RIP Fluffy! 01-07-09 I'm so sorry Fluffster! People who don't like cats were probably mice in an earlier life! My mind not only wanders, sometimes it leaves completely! The nice part about living in a small town: When you don't know what you're doing, someone else always does!

    So, "new" comp

    some pros:

good price (although not as good as free )
decent graphics card (not the one I'd hoped for, but all right for now and easy to overclock. Runs guild wars great at high quality and Diablo 3 should be playable enough for the missus)
    nice case!
    modular PSU
more complete than my other option, so less mucking about to get started

    some cons:

too well put together--everything fits snugly and mucking about in there is gonna be a hassle (compared to my previous computers)

the (pirated) vista install it came with was of course corrupted and for some reason the idiot computer refused to acknowledge any of my USB drives besides an ancient one with Puppy Linux. On the bright side, installing windows 8 via Puppy proved to be even simpler than doing the same via Ubuntu. On the down side figuring this out took way WAY too long.

Ordered the motherboard today. So glad the Z77 chipset opened up the playing field and brought ivybridge support to an acceptable price point, paid less than half of what I was planning for.

Its a Gigabyte GA-Z77-D3HClick to view the full version

$119.99, which brings my build total up to ~$764.

Ran into a bit of a spacing issue inside the case. Thanks to size of the radiator my exhaust fan is screwed to the outside rear of the case and I had to cut a section off of one of the radiator fans to make room for the USB ports located on the top of the motherboard. It looks clean, but I suspect I'll be picking up some scythe slim model 120mm fans for a more complete and traditional look. Once the motherboard comes in I'll throw up some pictures.

Okay, but what's she doing with a shmuck like you?
In the future, the Berlin wall will be a mile high, and made of steel. You too will be made to crawl, to lick children's blood from jackboots. There will be no creativity, only productivity. Instead of love there will be fear and distrust, instead of surrender there will be submission. Contact will be replaced with isolation, and joy with shame. Hope will cease to exist as a concept. The Earth will be covered with steel and concrete. There will be an electronic policeman in every head. Your children will be born in chains, live only to serve, and die in anguish and ignorance.
The universe we observe has precisely the properties we should expect if there is, at bottom, no design, no purpose, no evil, no good, nothing but blind, pitiless indifference.

No you don't, I mean who is she that you have to spend your time energy and self-esteem on bling one-liners ropes etc in order to "get" her to "like" you?? come on man you're a good dude, if there's anything you can do to "get" someone to like you it's to make sure you don't forget who you are so that they can actually see who you are and make their own decisions for themselves.

Wasn't planning on doing that! But I'm a bit shy when it comes to situations like this, which is what I meant. Which makes it slightly harder to get someone to see you as you are!

    *jedi*you are not shy*jedi*

You're a rock-star! And a cooking exhibitionist! You're less shy now than I've ever been, all the tests support this assessment but you'll have to see for yourself too

Last day of my external gyno rotation, saw a little bloblet (2 cm!) for the first time... with little blobs for arms and legs... good thing it was dark in the room 'cause i got a little teary-eyed too of course when I shared this experience on facebook everyone thought the ginger and I were going to have a baby. I have clearly inherited my mum's communication-skills

I was approached by The City Club of Cleveland to make an award replica of a very old Chinese gong/bell.
They have used this bell to start all meetings for the past 100 years. The City Club has all kinds of speakers come, including presidents.

This is the fourth time this award has been given, but this award/trophy will be new, and I'm making it!

"The City Club of Cleveland established The Citadel of Free Speech Award to recognize a nationally prominent figure who has contributed significantly to the advancement and preservation of free speech as well as highlighting The City Club of Cleveland’s continuing interest in and support of free speech."

This award will be going to...Ted Turner.

We had some preliminary discussions, and I gave them an estimate, and I got the green light today!
They said they would give me credit wherever they can, and I can attend the awards ceremony.

Here is the actual bell that I am duplicating:

    Wheeeeee!

    Nice!

Also if you get to design diamond bras for Victoria's Secret, can you give me the admission for the party there? I'm sure I'll enjoy the view more!

  30. #3540
I never got the point of diamond bras. I mean, do you really need shiny bits of carbon to draw your attention to a woman's breasts? Expensive shiny bits of carbon?

    Congrats, Bitter.
