Almost done with Fallout 3, after that I'm going to get the DLC for Assassin's Creed 2 that was released this past week.

Love the music in AC2, same guy that did the Hitman series' soundtracks, Jesper Kyd:

<3 listening to that while working.

Totally fell off the Civ IV waggon. damn.
    The Rules
Copper- behave toward others to elicit treatment you would like (the manipulative rule)
Gold- treat others how you would like them to treat you (the self regard rule)
Platinum - treat others the way they would like to be treated (the PC rule)

    I'm playing Ace Combat 6!

Yes, I know that I'm about 2 years late, but I picked up a copy cheap because I've always loved flight sims and it is really very fun. Obviously the story and weapons are a bit unrealistic, but overall it's great fun to play.

Anyone who trusts the Microsoft Store, you can get Batman: Arkham Asylum (PC download) for $12.49 till the end of the month Looks like I'll finally be picking up the game.

Decided to take a bit of a break from Perfect World International to get back into Left 4 Dead, StarCraft, Civ4, and finally finish campaign on Modern Warfare 2.

I bought one of these bad boys today:

Too bad I don't have anymore money to buy any games for it yet.
    I enjoy blank walls.

I used to have one of those! I remember getting all excited the first time I bought a game that came with a custom SuperGameBoy border.

Game looks amazing so far , but the Games for Windows Live service leaves a lot to be desired. Took 2 full days to download 7GBs, it has no "launch at windows start" option, and the system it uses to provide games keys is clunky and stupid; literally, as in not smart, it claimed my copy and pasted key was invalid the first time I attempted to log in.

I hate Windows Live. I was really excited about Dirt2 until I ran into the Windows Live swamp. I uninstalled the game, unplayed.

Got it for PS3, none of those problems

Currently playing a game called Bladestorm:The Hundred Years War (IIRC) for the PS3. Fun little game as a bit of a time-killer, play as a mercenary who picks missions for either England or France in the Hundred Years war. No loyalty to either side, though I'm mainly picking the England missions

But I got it as a bargain second-hand, and that's what its worth IMO. No multiplayer option which is odd as the whole way its set-up leads each mission to have the feel of a multiplayer game with rankings at the end of each mission. Makes the game feel incomplete, which is strange as I never really play multiplayer anyway so don't genuinely miss the option - but it feels really strange not to see the option there anyway.

Batman is far from my first Windows Live game. I think that goes to Gears of War. I got a Steam code for Dirt 2 with my 5850; now that is a fine example of excessive stupidness. Steam overlay, overlayed ontop of the Games for Live overlay
I actually liked the physical media Games for Windows Live idea better than the old Steam. Live was snappy and out of the way. Jury is still out compared to the Steam beta UI.

But Batman is my first digital Live purchase from start to finish, and it kind of sucked. Now that I have the game downloaded, installed, and activated, Games for Live isn't giving me any issues.

Moment of off topic to Windows Live (which I think is a bad idea, incidentally), If I may.
I found this epic Secret Of Mana concert on Youtube, and I recommend watching the entire thing, as it's an incredible arrangement.

    I enjoy blank walls.

I really did enjoy the music in AC2 as well. I was really missing this though: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZH1NF...eature=related

I liked the music in AC2 as well. However, I was disapointed they couldnt fit this in: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZH1NF...eature=related

Umm...well considering MW2 campaign takes only about 5 hours to beat without making a speed run...

Almost finished Batman, now in the final boss fight.

and I got Victoria, which looks rather complicated with the resources, factories, citizen types and whathaveyou. Which is good.

Thing is, while waiting for it, I started a Mamluk game in EUIII and now I want to finish that first

Victoria is complicated. Classic Paradox - a steep learning curve - but well worth it

  17. #167
Well, the Mamluks aren't a walk in the park either.

The difficulty said easy, but I am used to playing European factions. Being boxed in by the Ottomans, Persia and Timurids on one side, and the impending doom of Castille on the other is ... fun! Every time I think I have some period of peace to work on developing, crap hits the fan. Had to start over and had to make completely different decisions wrt diplomacy and economy.

Dead Space. Its a bit unnerving. Mainly because of how they like to spawn the enemies...
    . . .

Finished Mass Effect. It was ... good. Good story. Kept me intrigued. Combat was fun enough, if a bit formulaic.

Will hold off starting anything else for the time being. Am going to pick up learning the piano again from where I left off over 12 months ago.

It would probably be the only Hero game to actually be able to teach functional knowledge of the instrument involved...

The first and last time I tried Victoria *years ago* the production/trade game was too complicated and had too steep a curve for my taste.
Last night as I lay in bed, looking up at the stars, I thought, “Where the hell is my ceiling?"

In case anyone is interested, Sony has a interactive demo of Heavy Rain up on Youtube.

Great...first run through that and I got the shop keeper killed. I'm a sorry ass cop.
2nd attempt worked out a lot better, got the box I'm assuming the cop needed.

  28. #178
After playing through that, I don't think its a great way to promote the game. All those choices, and they all come down to the same 3 cut scenes, the shop keeper getting gunned down in the same way, shopkeeper and gumman getting knocked out, or you saving the day by getting the gunman to back away.

It doesn't matter how you to talk to anyone, my first chance to "drop gun" gave me the same result and my "threaten", or "name", then "drop gun" options.

When you do pick something up again, the sequel is better in just about every way. Except for the mining.

I hope so. I could never finish Mass Effect because of those gawd-awful Mako levels, not to mention I'm in the same boat as Timbuk2 with regards to combat. (Though I think it bugged me more. Game also got glitchy for me too, to the point of annoyance.)

Right now I'm going back through ye old God of War games in celebration of the third game's release.
