    I don't really watch tennis (or much of any sport bar my own), but I'm pretty much in awe of top level tennis players. The level of mental strength and concentration required to play at the top level must be amazing. To keep the concentration up after you lose a point you should have won, to not let it turn into a route when the other player has the upper hand for a bit. I've seen so many sports people just going "lol, i quit now*" when things aren't going my way that Murray impressing me a lot by fighting till the very end and literally refusing to give up, ever.

    * not literally quitting but quitting as in "I won't try anymore"

    Yeah, I think I saw one or two games of Murray that was half spirited. None from Federer. I used to think that this was what defined the real pros, but you see Djokovic usually letting himself behind by not focusing for almost an entire set. It's almost as if he likes being the "underdog", and then fight himself back into the game.
    Tomorrow is like an empty canvas that extends endlessly, what should I sketch on it?

    I saw a few games from both where it looked like to me like (I know nothing about Tennis, it took my about half the match to decyper the scoring system - "wait, that guy got the point there? Why did that guy get the point") they'd just decided to write the game off.

    Yeah, I think it is a mental thing. Like when are actually encouraged, but decide to fake themselves as discouraged in front of the opponent, so that he will slack off a bit - and then they strike back.

    Sometimes they're naturally a bit despaired as well. Especially when a guy starts winning all the deciding points.

    It's interesting to watch tennis, I really wonder if the one-handed backhand is gone for good, because that was a major weakness for Federer for quite some time, and many players began abusing it. Federer though was and still is an amazing player, great overall package, but at the end of the day his age is catching up with him facing all these young guys. I hope his win in Wimbledon carries him to gold in the 2012 olympics.

    You're right, women are majorly overpaid compared to the men for such a weak lack of work effort they need to put in.

    Men are required to play best of 5 sets and the winner gets £1.6mn (<1/3mn per set).
    Women are required to play best of 3 sets and the winner gets £1.6mn (>0.5mn per set).

    Either it should be best of 5 sets for women or the prize money should reflect the difference. Unfortunately the pay is identically the same for men and women despite the requirements not being the same, that's sexist.

    The first Set of Five for the Men's Final has taken the same time as the ENTIRE Women's Best of 3 Final. Shows why equalising pay without equalising the Sets to play was such a ridiculous decision.

    Although to be fair, this year's women's final was unusually short, due to Lisicki's self-destruct.

    I agree that equalising the cash prize does seem to be a strange decision though.

    I didn't realise until now that Andy Murray was a pupil in Dunblane Primary School at the time of the Dunblane Massacre (the UK's only to my knowledge school shooting that left 18 dead). It is nice to see Dunblane put on the map for something much more positive
