Thread: What is making you happy right now

Jon got Herman Cain to admit he was wrong about something
In the future, the Berlin wall will be a mile high, and made of steel. You too will be made to crawl, to lick children's blood from jackboots. There will be no creativity, only productivity. Instead of love there will be fear and distrust, instead of surrender there will be submission. Contact will be replaced with isolation, and joy with shame. Hope will cease to exist as a concept. The Earth will be covered with steel and concrete. There will be an electronic policeman in every head. Your children will be born in chains, live only to serve, and die in anguish and ignorance.
The universe we observe has precisely the properties we should expect if there is, at bottom, no design, no purpose, no evil, no good, nothing but blind, pitiless indifference.

    I hate you

It was about the Obamaloney welfare work requirement 'relaxation' thing, nothing that interesting in and of itself but the conversation was hilarious given how they both behaved

Space President Obama does an Ask me Anything on Reddit but, like a typical politician, avoids the tough questions

•Profile created mere hours before minutes after the AMA was announced, and literally six seconds before asking a well written, paragraph long question (approximate typing speed assuming it was typed after creating the account? 1570 wpm)
•Created a profile 5 minutes 39 seconds after the AMA going live, when servers were having a fit.
•Asked question explicitly requesting ways to recruit the youth that Obama relied on last election (many of whom are disillusioned with him, for all the reasons she presents herself as being subject to)
•Is literally only 1 of 10 questions answered.
•asked by one hmlee who (according to some internet detective work):
•has only one comment in her history, total
•Posted a blog entry supporting Obama
•lists herself as working/having worked as an intern at the Department of Justice
So, is it possible that she heard about it on her own, created an account, and typed up an eloquent question that is a PR man's wet dream all within less than 6 minutes? Yes, it's possible. It's just not particularly likely.

To bad the real story isn't nearly that juicy.

Because no one on Reddit has ever copied something from somewhere else, and pasted it into a thread for karma. At least this time it might have been original content and not a repost.

Due to some... mishaps... I reverted to using only WebOS on my Touchpad. Have been surprisingly happy with it. Today I've installed the WebOS Community Edition (port of some features of Open WebOS?) and it's sweeeeet

Hence my comment about the real story being less entertaining. Some news source interviewed the commenter and it pretty much was this. Obama gave a 30 minutes heads up on twitter about the IAMA, and thats when the person wrote the question. The profile was so new because she stayed logged in and home, but wasn't home at the time and couldn't remember the pass.

Sorry to piss on your hopes Enoch.

Completed a 13 km run today in the sunset. Decent pace, although I had to stop at times to ask for directions back home. That's what I love about outdoor running. You start from your door step, and don't have to transport yourself to a gym first.

Now I'm frying fish sticks to go along with the superb Roger Federer match playing against the Spanish 25th ranked Verdasco. Should be an easy, but fun match.
Tomorrow is like an empty canvas that extends endlessly, what should I sketch on it?

Just discovered that my lesson workload tomorrow just shrinked from 4 lessons to a single lesson.

Hmmm...DJ took the stage at 8:30...still spinning.

While I'm digging some of it...not what I really wanted to spend $200 a ticket for...

This may need to move to the WTF thread

Wasn't she 2 hours late for one of her shows last month?

    Yeah, so much caring.

Damn. I clicked on this to see what made Enoch happy, since he's been so sour.

She took to the stage at 10PM. Show was excellent, just did not like the hour and a half of a DJ all that much.

    I'll be happy to contribute!

I spent a beautiful Saturday at an orchard picking raspberries and apples, and then made a refreshing - and spicy - cucumber salad with lemon, chili powder, salt and Tapatio. Steak for dinner and rounding it off with fresh apple dumplings and raspberry pie for desert makes for one happy Enoch.

Brandy was accepted into the Fisher Price House Party. This is what they sent. 57lb box, contents retail for close to $300. This is the same company that worked with Microsoft for the Windows 7 launch when I got a free copy of 7 Ultimate and a laptop.

You should have posted in the Recipes thread! I'd be interested in making that cucumber/lemon Chili AND Tapatio salad.

We had NY strip steak tonight (last night by now) on the grill. A real treat. My son was in charge of the seasoning rub -- his "personal secret" mix of ground black, red, and chili peppers, with brown sugar. Quite good, spicy-sweet that didn't overtake the taste of the meat. The leftover pieces will be reheated and served with eggs-over-easy, toasted English muffins and orange marmalade. He's quite the budding chef.

Oh yeah, I'm also VERY HAPPY that we've got a break from the summer heat wave. Humidity and temps are down, and I can finally turn off the dastardly A/C and open the windows. A new breeze, gently moving the window sheers into a dance, crickets chirping softly in the distance, scents of freshly cut grass and late summer mallows. Hurry, autumn. I've been patiently awaiting...
