Ha! So there's a Loki wedding coming up huh
We're trying to limit ourselves to ca. 80 people in total. Prices vary from suspiciously low to absurdly high, even with the recently lowered VAT on restaurants. This place charges surprisingly little for food, and reviews throughout the years have been esp. positive wrt the food. The first place charged twice as much, for worse food. We've found some places that charge 3-7 times as much, which is absurd. It helps that half the guests don't drink and that we can supply our own alcoholic beverages (= cheaper and tastier). The cost of renting the venue is very low (although they may be looking at a sudden steep rent hike soon) because it's owned and run by a special kind of foundation and an association who're tasked with running this sort of business with an eye toward some sort of "public good".
The place looks lovely, and is in high demand esp. for weddings, but it's not quite as luxurious as many manors etc that are very popular for hosting weddings.
Out of curiosity, what kind of venues have you guys gone for? A few months ago, I had no idea what sort of places hosted large weddings in Sweden. I certainly had no idea there were so many manors, palaces, jazzed up old warehouses, etc in this country

some people have the party on boats/small ships that cruise around in Sthlm's archipelago

the party-arranging industry is larger and busier than I'd expected it to be. Sheltered nerdy life
