also want to point out that generally, people over here expect both sides to display a higher than normal level of friendliness when it comes to food interactions. If you're an asshole to a fast food worker, no one is going to back you up with you get the same attitude in return. plus people generally don't like getting contaminated food.
My worst experiences with people being dicks to staff were Americans though, expecting the staff to be nice to them even if they weren't, because of the tips. Customer may be king, but the bartender is God over here and can still throw you out
