"One day, we shall die. All the other days, we shall live."
It could be both real and marketing. I can't imagine it's actually cheaper to produce this versus food, right?
It's something I would certainly try if it were real/commercially viable/physiologically viable/etc. I'm not a huge food person. Though I doubt it can realistically replace a balanced diet.
FOOD isn't just meeting caloric/nutritional requirements. It's a multiple sensory-social-cultural pleasure that includes rituals like shopping, cooking, and dining. Usually with/for others. That can't be replaced with many shortcuts or bypasses.

Honestly, I like eating.
Separately, I'm not impressed with what it appears he puts in the stuff. I'm sorry, but dumping essential amino acids and glucose into physiological buffer with some fats and other bits is hardly a well designed food. It ignores how absorption happens in the gut and how the microbiome will react to this kind of diet. Anecdotal evidence about its virtues hardly convinces me either.

I'm not bad. I'm just drawn that way...
Dread, didn't you do any "GI study" when you had some personal GI problems? I recall giving you some advice about dairy products, glutens, and food 'allergies' in the past.
Human guts are complex systems....that rely on other systems to function as a proper and whole "body".
