From briefly scanning the article, seems like the police didn't announce themselves, AND managed to enter the wrong house. I'm not gonna say the shooting was justified, but it seems like a monumental fuckup on the police's end. I don't know why the article described them as clearing the rooms either - it implies the police were armed and actively searching things out. I also wonder at what time in the morning.
That's what you get when you're allowed to shoot anyone who enters your house I guess. On a side note, why are they even in the house without a search warrant?

Ask whom? Ask China? If it is so easy to get China to send defectors to SK, why do so many get sent to NK from China? Ask the Swedish migration board? They have already decided to treat him as of he's an asylum seeker from China, and that's where they intend to send him.

Ask the South Koreans; thousands of people crossed the North Korean - Chinese border in order to travel to South Korea. South Korea in principle admits every North Korean who defects (considers them citizens). The idea that this boy will wind up in a North Korean prison camp just because he will be sent to China is ludicrous.
Keeping him in Sweden is just denying a real asylum seeker access to the system.

You seem to be referring to those north Koreans who went from China to South Korea without being detected by Chinese authorities, which would not be the case with this person.

You seem to be blind to the essential piece of information; South Korea considers all Koreans citizens. If he calls the South Korean Embassy they will issue him South Korean travel documents.

*shrugs* If it is as you say it is, then it is certainly curious that his lawyer has not turned to the SK embassy in Sweden. Perhaps he's a nork spy sent to scout out the Swedish defenses. If you are right, then we can at least presume he won't have to be sent to a death camp in North Korea. I took the liberty of asking his lawyer for general information pertaining to nork asylum seekers contacting the SK embassy in the country they've fled to but I doubt I'll get a response.
That of course does not make the Swedish migration board's management of the case, or their reasoning--or their continued reliance of the much-maligned Sprakab, or, in this case, their bizarre unreliance--any less fucked up. The "wtf" bit about the story is not that an asylum-seeker is being deported from Sweden, the "wtf" bit has to do with what we know of the decision and how it seems to have been made.
Perhaps you have your legitimate reasons for giving this chronically incompetent agency the benefit of the doubt, but in my experience--and from what I've learned from those of my friends and acquaintances who've had to deal with them both professionally and as private citizens--in many matters such as these, they do not deserve the benefit of the doubt.

The thing is of course that the Swedish agency can't bestow South Korean citizenship on him so that if they are confronted with a person who claims to be a North Korean, then they will have to treat him as if he's a North Korean. It's the only way he can apply for asylum I bet. As for the depiction of the matter by the lawyer; he would not have any interest in pointing out the obvious, because in that case his client simply doesn't have a case. What you also shouldn't forget is that a lot of these lawyers the aim is to destroy a system they percieve as grossly unjust. No amount of reason (for example that Sweden can't absorb the millions of people that would like to come there) has no relevance whatsoever.
I for my part don't like people who turn every kind of humanitarian policy into a suicide pact.
