FFX was the last one that was great for me. FFXIII was OK (poor in comparison to expectations for FF, fun still to play) though they dragged that one out to death. Never played any of the sequels with Lightning in.
Ditto. FFX-2 was mediocre at best. FFXII had some interesting elements, but was more of a crappy single-player MMO than a final fantasy. FFXIII wasn't even a final fantasy, and the gameplay was awful (the story was even worse). FFXV might or might not be a good game, but it's not a final fantasy.

Aside: FFX-2 and FFXII are different games? Weird.
X-2 is the sequel to X (the tenth game of the series and the first to get a sequel that I can think of). XII is the twelfth game. Unusual perhaps but nobody would write twelve as X-2.
