    Default Stop it Liberals

Cloud's sword... yeah people are NOT looking for realism in their video games. Get a life.

In any event bulimia is hardly a major issue compared to the MASSIVE KILLER that is obesity. Should we be encouraging MORE dieting and exercise as opposed to non-stop whining about body image 'diseases.'

It's like you somehow think bulemia and obesity aren't linked.
Last night as I lay in bed, looking up at the stars, I thought, “Where the hell is my ceiling?"

*shrug* None of the redesigns are obese, a couple may be be borderline overweight due to the weird proportions but not a single one seems to be in the "will die because she's fat" category. You're an odd man Lewk, just really frickin' odd. But I guess you already knew that.

Is there some particular reason why the women in video games need to be sexpots, lewk? I think that video games probably cause fewer body image problems than film, magazines, and television, but I still don't see why the characters can't be more realistically proportioned (and not contortionists, for a few). I don't know that the male characters are particularly representative or fair, either.

Granted, I think a bigger issue is how many games there are that can't be played as female.
We're stuck in a bloody snowglobe.

Its a broader point that there seems to be too much of a focus on the liberal side of 'body image' health impacts. If anything as a society we should encourage people to focus MORE on their body image so that they will lead healthier lives.

    Ugh, lewk.

It is possible to encourage a child or young adult to get healthier without making them feel like a worthless piece of shit. News flash - those feelings are not conducive to eating well or trying to become fitter.

I'm guessing game makers do it because their target is audience is guys 13-30.

Having a hot (but not realistic) video game character shouldn't make anyone "feel like a worthless piece of shit."

The video game character bit was really irrelevant. I like playing Tomb Raider, I don't think video game characters have to be unrealistic, but I don't get worked up over it - I am more concerned with the airbrushed and photoshopped 'real' women in magazines and film being the ideal

You're an absolute fool if you don't think that how people treat you has an impact.

It's Lewk. He only recognizes negative motivation.

Again someone telling you that you are a fat worthless loser who should exercise more is ONE thing, having pixels that aren't quite realistic is another. To compare the two is stupid. Though even that being said being called fat/obese isn't a huge deal... if you are fat or obese. Its factual. For the record I weigh in at the obese range too but you don't see me whining about all the muscular/cut guys on TV.

Liberals are always *always* trying to deflect blame. The ONLY way people change is to realize that THEY are responsible for their current situation. Without the acknowledgement that they are responsible there is simply no motivation to change. The message should be 'you failed but guess what you can fix it.' This is empowering as opposed to the liberals message (be it weight, success, drug abuse, whatever) of 'its society's fault or the 'man' (white/hetero/christian/male) discriminating against you' that does nothing but turn people into whining victims.

Untrue. Positive motivation is obvious. How do you get people to work extra hours? Overtime pay! Carrots and sticks are absolutely BOTH important to use. That's why I'm in favor of financial incentives *for students* to have strong attendance, avoid trouble and pass standardized tests. (For example).

Finally we are given an explanation for why Lewk is so full of hate and whines about everyone. I suspected, but it's good to have confirmation.

Sigh...Lewk, please stop with the Liberals crap. This is a special subset of the online community...the SJW's. Their hyperbolic overreaction to anything they don't find acceptable is how they vent their outrage at everything. They are beyond the right left contiunmn and are infact internet Rage Mob Statists. They want to van everything that someone finds fun. That makes them worse than the bible thumpers or Bloomberg soda banners.

I don't have anything to add today concerning Lewk's mental illness, but I did get a chuckle out of the fact that I started playing Dragon's Crown a day before these photoshopped images were released. I knew there was some jiggling reason why I picked the sorceress, I just couldn't put my finger on it.

It's all a matter of gaming preference...I just don't find that type of character model all that appealing...male or female.

I just don't tend to buy those games...I would not think to throw an Internet hissy-fit over it however...people have too much free time.

Should TV shows not aim to have attractive people on them either? Barely an episode of Arrow goes by without the star in a state of undress, typically with a bare chest doing exercises. I don't think I could have a chest like that however much I tried to diet or exercise so should that be stopped?
