Err, when a white supremacist attacks a black church, it is his motivation. Unless you mean it's not why he's crazy enough to commit a crime like that.

No, when someone is a psychopath and wants to kill people, those are the causes of his behavior. If he didn't kill people for being black, he'd kill people for not dating him or not giving him a loan.

If he has his hands on a gun. Americans are not biologically or culturally inclined to being more psychopathic.

Americans are far, far more likely to not be receiving treatment for their mental illnesses.

Right, I just many that his motivating in the attack was racist, but yes he'd probably find something else otherwise. Though motivation does of course have some influence, see IS propaganda etc. Preying on the weak and telling them that violence is righteous has an impact. But AFAIK in this case he wasn't encouraged by others to do this, so probably not really a thing here.

ISIS takes the extra step of brainwashing "weak" people who nevertheless wouldn't do anything if not convinced to join ISIS. There's no evidence that white supremacist groups actively encourage its members to kill people.

Do you have any evidence for this?

Also, go to pretty much any city in the country. 2/3 of the long-term homeless have serious mental illnesses, and we have a LOT of long-term homeless people.

That article doesn't say that Americans are far, far more likely to not be receiving treatment than in other developed nations. In fact as far as international comparisons go it says "This puts us in the same range as other developed nations including Australia and Italy."

How many of these mass shootings have been conducted by the homeless?

The problem isn't the amount of money being spent; it's where the money is spent, something that's addressed in the article.

The most recent guy just moved into a motel after borrowing money from his siblings (whom he hasn't seen in a decade). Pretty strong indication he was a vagrant.

Where in the article does it show where the money is spent is leading to people being far, far more likely to not receiving treatment than in other nations?

The part that says that most of the money is going on drugs.

Wrong. That shows a contrast from the 1980s and the 1960s it doesn't even reference other countries.

The UK and I suspect basically all other western nations have had the same shift away from inpatient treatment for the mentally ill that the US has had.

Flying the Confederate Flag on State-sanctioned grounds shouldn't be conflated with mental illness....unless you're prepared to call southern states bat shit crazy. While it often seems that way, it's only because legislators can get elected due to gerrymandering, and fucked up voter registration (and campaign finance) laws.

Just in case you somehow missed it, someone put 4 confederate flags around MLK's church this morning.
We're stuck in a bloody snowglobe.
