"Following a 30-minute conversation on “intersectionality” and millennial feminism, a reporter asked the panel for its thoughts on reproductive rights and women’s health issues for men who ascribe to a female gender identity.

Ayanna Pressley, a Boston city councilor at-large, said the issue of men who identify as women getting abortions is all about “elevated consciousness.”"

Bwhahahahahahha you can't even make this shit up.

That's just meaningless BS, but I'd be more concerned by the following quote: "Tamblyn chimed in, arguing that the reproductive rights of trans women are at the forefront of the conversation at Planned Parenthood, where the Grudge 2 star sits on the board of directors."

Really, the reproductive rights of trans women are at the forefront? That's the same trans women who simply can't get pregnant with today's science, that's at the forefront? Maybe if it became scientifically possible for trans women to get pregnant it could be a part of the conversation, but if that's at the forefront of the conversation then your conversation is f###ed.

I think the issue here is that "reproductive rights" is a tad broader than just carrying your own fertilized egg in utero, Rand, and denial of access due to sexual classification is pretty regular, even ubiquitous. Pressley is being "New Agey" but I imagine Tamblyn and Planned Parenthood are talking about basic healthcare issues. If your genitalia is an inverted penis created by a plastic surgeon, should a gynecologist be refusing to perform a vaginal exam?
Last night as I lay in bed, looking up at the stars, I thought, “Where the hell is my ceiling?"

I am by no means an expert on these things, but would a gynecologist even be the right specialist to perform that exam?

That would be fair enough, but it continues: Tamblyn admitted she has a lot to learn about whether biological men are being denied abortions.“The fact that I don’t know, the fact that I don’t have an answer should tell you a lot,” she said. “About what I need to learn.”

She may not know the answer, without even being in the industry I know the answer. So either it's shoddy reporting, or a shoddy answer.

More like an unwillingness of "privileged" groups in those conferences to offend oppressed group in any way, lest they be called Republicans or something.

Could it be that trans women also have interests wrt reproductive rights before transition? I mean, technically they can do the man part in reproduction right up to where the surgery is performed. And if sperm cells are frozen in, even the surgery isn't a full end to that.

Of the top of my head; a trans woman has a child by a surrogate mother but with her own sperm?
    Congratulations America

The abortion thing is puzzling and probably a result of nervosity about accidentally saying something bad or clumsy. However there are other issues pertaining to reproductive rights that are real and important. In Sweden for example, until very recently, transpersons weren't allowed to freeze germ cells if they wanted to transition completely.

The abortion is absurd as is the language used. The way these far leftists talk makes my skin crawl.

I don't think it's fair to call them far left. Most of them wouldn't know what to do with Marx.

Do you have a better label?

  12. #12
It's not easy finding good labels. I've been trying for years to find a good label for people who send their kids to special camps to have their gayness-inducing demons exorcized not to mention the ones who go around seriously saying that Satan buried dinosaur bones in such a way as to make it look like the earth is more than 6000 years old. If we can't even put a fitting label on that kind of insanity how can we put a decent label on people being tripped up by trolling? From what I can tell the claim that "all advocacy ultimately begins with elevated consciousness" was not directly in reference to the matter of trans women being denied abortions.

As you can see from the slightly more detailed description here, this was more a case of a cockbag trying to get clicks than about anything else:

I like the phrase religious bullshit for those beliefs. It is nearly as bad those who think that their god wants them to kill Allahu Akhbar. We need more Enlightenment and less Religious Bullshit.
