Got to say I absolutely love Nick Clegg's tears today that the government is seeking to make Brexit Britain "a low regulation, low tax, enlarged offshore Singapore for which they have no mandate".
That's exactly what I voted for.Singapore is one of the world's richest nations, far better off than we are, I would love to be more like Singapore economically.
Goodbye NHS, hello revolt.

Guys, you do know that Orwell's 1984 wasn't supposed to be a How-To manual?

Did he who made the lamb make thee?
Ok, ths time for balance a stupid idea by a federalist; pay-as-you-go EU citizenship for UK citizens after Brexit; as if that wouldn't require a new EU treaty.
Congratulations America
Hehe, some sharp legal guys have figured out that a mandate to leave the EU isn't the same as a mandate to get out of the EEA.
Congratulations America
Some legal guys claim that. I suspect the ECJ would laugh that put of court if it got that far. While we could remain in the EEA by rejoining the EFTA being a part of the EEA but neither the EU nor the EFTA would be the ultimate "have cake and eat it" scenario. Sign me up if it's possible, though it's not.
I must say I am a bit surprised by Tusk's letter to Tory MP's, basically telling them to stop whining about Brexit, and just bring it on.
It starts to look more and more like the UK's membership is heading for the off the cliff ending.

Good to see the Leave crowd continue their campaign against facts and expertise. Must be great to be in the same corner as the neanderthals.
Hope is the denial of reality
So 89 MP's used their common sense today.
Congratulations America
Not inflicting harm upon yourself to me seems a perfectly fine example of common sense.
Congratulations America
Voting against the clusterfuck that is known by the name Brexit.
Congratulations America
Brexit hasn't happened yet.
Congratulations America
Just like when Article 50 gets invoked, if there isn't a downturn following promptly afterward, you'll start insisting that invoking A50 isn't what matters but the actual finalization after two years or an executed exit agreement. You're both doing the exact same thing, and you'll both continue to do the same thing through Article 50 being invoked, through the finalization of Brexit, and for years afterward, always drumming up some rationale for why X downturn doesn't count, or why Y strong posted growth is from some other factor and despite Brexit losses.
Last night as I lay in bed, looking up at the stars, I thought, “Where the hell is my ceiling?"
Since nobody knows for sure what will be on the table it isn't strange that people are still hoping for the best. But given that on both sides politicians don't have the will to withstand internal political pressure in order to get a good deal you don't exactly have to be clairvoyant to see where we are heading. Chipper talk about how wonderful things go despite Brexit will change little to the fact that from april 2018 we start the real fight over who gets what from the common property. Brexit will lead to big damage for the EU27 and (relatively) much bigger damage for the UK. And part of that damage will be the fall-out of the deteriation of relations during the negotiations. Things that were unthinkable will come about; I would not even be surprised if full visa regimes are imposed in 2019.
The nonsense Randblade gobbles up about ditching the EU to win the world has no basis in the world of today where free trade deals have become suicide pills for politicians in countries that are functioning Democracies
On a more technical note: if notification can be revoked Brexit need not happen. So there will be people making decisions on the assumption that common sense will in the end win and that things will stay the same. I am not one of them, but I have no doubt thousands of people with jobs in the City would love to stop Brexit.

Worst case scenario if others don't want to co-operate we can operate without free trade deals and do a Singapore and unilaterally abolish tariffs and then go from strength to strength no longer bound by the Common External Tariff to jack up prices. Still winning scenarios available.
Sure and no doubt China and India are shaking in their boots by the thought of having to compete with the industries you will build to re-employ your deplorables. Don't know if they will shake enough to drop their tariff and non-tariff barriers though.
