Hope is the denial of reality
Dude. You spineless mofos literally voted to make a racist misogynistic shithead the president of your country and he's putting other racist assclowns in his cabinet while the rest of the ostensibly righteous Right is busy bending over backwards trying to suck up to their new leader. Both neo-Nazis and the KKK are expanding while other slightly more polished xenophobic ethno-nationalist white supremacists are making giant strides forward after the election. But sure, tell me more about how strongly the right opposes racism![]()
"One day, we shall die. All the other days, we shall live."
Well I have 0 free articles left but pizzagate isn't really different folks on the left screaming 'no blood for oil' and Bush rape claims. Or relatively non-political black helicopter/fake lunar landing fools. And certainly NOT what we are talking about when we talk about free speech.

"One day, we shall die. All the other days, we shall live."
Pizzagate involves an apparently innocent entrepreneur, with an innocuous business, suffering economic, social and psychological harm due to the irresponsible actions of your brethren. It doesn't really matter if it's "no different" from other conspiracy theories, although it would seem that it is indeed different due to its devastating impact on a single individual. It's reprehensible, and your refusal to disavow this bs that gives your alt-right and reddit-wanking buddies so much lulz is, frankly, embarrassing.
"One day, we shall die. All the other days, we shall live."
Nonsense. People who believe the moon-landing was fake don't typically cause this much harm to private individuals. If they did, such harrassment would by rights be considered significant rather than trivial. You're attempting to trivialize the actions of your antisocial buddies, which is kinda gutless.
"One day, we shall die. All the other days, we shall live."
It's hard to deny that free speech, as currently accepted in the US (no truth required), is problematic for our democracy. Fact-checking isn't doing the job in the public media forum. Biggest-most-blatant-liars-win is no (good) way to choose a nation's leadership. There's a price for this.
The Rules
Copper- behave toward others to elicit treatment you would like (the manipulative rule)
Gold- treat others how you would like them to treat you (the self regard rule)
Platinum - treat others the way they would like to be treated (the PC rule)

Its a gizmodo piece but it does a pretty good job explaining how reddit has found itself in its current troubles, how trolls have taken over the site and how they convince weak minded people like Lewk that they are 100% in the right and that everyone else is out to suppress them without cause. Same shit is happening here, abit on a much smaller scale, as the mods have refused to do anything to curtail lewk's hateful and harmful rhetoric.

Ah the next step in the liberal play book. "We are losing the debate." "Well let's just silence the opposition!" Now before you go whining about what I mean here - this isn't something new that liberals dream up. They do this *all the time.*
* Conservative speakers on campus are regularly harassed, booed, heckled, fire alarms pulled, violence, etc to not allow them to speak
* Talk radio was attempted to be shut down with the 'Fairness Doctrine'
* "Hate Speech"
* The asking of Reddit to ban The_Donald
* The liberal hard on for a single repository of truth
* Instead of discussing the item they almost instantly switch to ad hominem attacks such as 'racist' 'sexists' 'aphobe' 'white supremacist'
The cure for speech you find offensive - is more speech. Free speech does not give you a pass for libel/slander, terrorist threats, fire in a crowded theater, etc. However POLITICAL speech should be the MOST protected of all. And liberals, finding their arguments failing to persuade the general public turn to other means to try to win, by silencing the opposition. They don't want true debate - "Fair and Balanced" is an anathema to them. (Note: Fox is hardly balanced but they try to bring on other points of view at times). That is because liberals, as a general rule, do NOT want rational debate. The average liberal thinks the average voter is an idiot. They think that the 'elite' should rule over the peasantry and decide what is best because the average hick can't rule themselves. The average 'common man' is too stupid to avoid being abused by business. Modern day liberalism is all about paternalistic laws designed to protect people from themselves.
Did you purposely reply to my post with an example of the type of weak mindless kneejerk response I already explained happens, or are you so ignorant that you didn't catch what was going on?
one's inability to read would make it difficult for one to properly moderate. This does answer a few things.

Tell me, are you going to keep this "but Hillary!" nonsense up through the entirety of Trumps presidency?
Like, when he has FEMA harvest the organs, skin and sinew of gay couples and migrants to construct a horrific flesh gollum, which he will command to hunt down and devour people who talk shit about him on twitter, are you going to be, like "but what about hillary's emails, is that the real scandal?"

Yes, that's specific. Don't you find it odd when the 'protectors of free speech' would make flag burning a felony offense?
If you believe in free speech, and political speech....and can defend the Citizen's United decision that protects marketers and lobbyists.....then surely you can defend flag burning. Right?

Well, I agree that loss of citizenship is an indefensible (and unconstitutional) prescription for burning the American flag. I'm not sure what you're saying, Lewk. You harp on about Free Speech, and suggest that only "liberals" hate Free Speech...but can't explain why conservatives who want to restrict/limit the same speech is any different.
You see, when a liberal does something he doesn't like he assumes all liberals think the same, but if a republican or conservative does something he doesn't like it's not all conservatives who think like that.
By the way I'm pretty sure he's saying any punishment for burning a flag is wrong.
Keep on keepin' the beat alive!
Except when he thinks it's funny because it makes liberals sad.
"One day, we shall die. All the other days, we shall live."
Except Hillary sponsored a bill that would have criminalized flag burning, with a comparable punishment.
