It's started. Honestly, it's kinda disappointing so far - I've got a list of games on my watch list, and none of them have the deep discounts I was expecting.

With no flash sales the publishers and developers have really taken the value out of the discounts.
Valve hasn't done anything to make this sale fun either, so that doesn't help. Especially after that write in award category blew up in their face.

The games we are voting on this sale, there was a nomination phase. The last category was a write in. By far the two largest camps to come out of that were game most in need of a sequel (HL2E2) and biggest scam/dissappointment (No Man's Sky).
Now a logical person can't expect Valve to honor those, but a logical person would know that those are type of things that are going to go viral when you let the community decide things.
So now it looks like Valve ignored the community and created their own categories, wait no... make that 4 customer categories. and they reek of pre-planned marketing, one is even named boom boom.

It's entertaining - while it is a Rogue-like, you can*improve over time because you can buy perks with the money you collect at each run. So you don't start over completely fresh each time.Originally Posted by Wraith
