As has been repeatedly stated through this thread blocking a road in a protest without having previously got a permit (which allows traffic to be re-routed around the protest rather than simply stopped like this was) is typically illegal. Even the ACLU of Texas says as much: https://www.aclutx.org/en/know-your-...ght-to-PROTEST
Do I need to get a permit?
You might. Because of concerns like obstruction of traffic and maintenance of public order, many localities require a permit to hold a parade or a march. Check with your local government.
The Police cleared the traffic obstruction as they are legally required to do here. When even the ACLU advises against your actions maybe you've gone too far right?

Did they block traffic? Did they violate laws? Did they prevent people from entering the Mosque? If so you are either being deliberately obtuse or are trying to go off on some anti-gun tangent.

You don't compare them to and treat them like terrorists.
Unbelievable how some people can be so ignorant of history.
I'm always in favor of giving an opportunity for people to surrender. After that they need to be taken down. No society should ever tolerate lawlessness. You don't get to resist arrest, continue rioting, continue impeding other people from getting to a hospital, a job or picking up their kids because you have some grievance. We are a nation of laws and if you want to change them, go vote. If you want to bring attention to an issue use your free speech and bring attention to it. *Legally* protest what you want. However once you start illegal behavior and interfering with the rights of others you need to be arrested and if you refuse to comply with legal orders you should be taken down.

The part that made this so beautiful to me was the high five at the end. This was the police at their finest, protecting and serving their community from masked jackasses and that show of appreciation was cool.
