So there's gotta be... well, at least 20 or 30 Arshaq's. Actually, parents pushing their child isn't always a good thing. I just enroll in the most rigorous courses available without asking myself, "will i find this interesting?" or "do i like this subject?". Usually, those students will be "smarter", but they won't really particularly enjoy their courses causing them to slack off and such. This prevents certain students from learning.

I didn't have a cell phone until I was 22, and I still don't have a car. I realize it's almost as bad as the fate of starving kids in Africa, but I'm sure you're persevere.

I'm involved in a lot of activities and I actually need a cellphone. I've head unlimited texting for Allah knows how long, too bad i've sent a grand total of 30 texts last month. And both of my parents work long hours, i usually have to ask friends or have my parents take time off work to drop me off/pick me up from whatever activity. They're black people; we should help them by either nuking them or re-instituting imperialism.

I think most people are reasonable to have somewhat different expectations for someone your age.

Well, i don't have as much as I want to. But at this point it's just whatever, I've killed myself and sacrificed my social life in hopes of attending a good college. I think I can last another year and a half. But yes, I'd say i live a decent life and most of my wants are met as long as I meet the expectations my parents have in mind.

Book smarts only get you so far in life; you need a bit of common sense/street smarts to really get far. Not directed at you, but just something to think about in the future.

Something I've noticed alot lately, especially at my job with college interns, is there are alot of kids with book smarts. But try to get them to use common sense with directions, or think problems through without spelling it out for them, and it's rough.

I'm pretty sure if anyone has been insulting you about your lack of intelligence, it wasn't about book smarts, but the very thing you demonstrated with this thread, eg. a lack of critical thinking skills. Perhaps instead of insulting people or trying to inform us of how totally wicked awesome at tests you are and how this is opening all sorts of opportunities for you, you should try and acquire knowledge in some other important areas of life.

BTW, Bitter Jeweler runs his own (successful) business so I'm not exactly sure how his low GPA or whatever else you seem to think is going to result in your being his manager (if such a thing were possible), or even how book smarts directly relate to being someone's manager. The job title itself should give away what their area of expertise is supposed to be in. I think you're probably also going to have to learn some humility or humbleness, otherwise when you get into a "good college" you're going to find it hard to keep this level of pride in the face of people who did what you did in highschool, but without killing themselves or breaking a sweat...

My cousin is a professor (chemistry) and has always performed very well academically but when it comes to common sense issues she is totally bewildered.

Your example of directions is a good comparison, she also completely misses the punch line in most jokes and has no concept of irony or sarcasm... I have a great time messing with her head.

?Smarter than me I guess? And sorry i didn't go to a private school when i was younger? My family was living off the scholarship money my parents had for their PhDs when we were living in France. Not fun times. And by the time my parents began earning 150k+ a year, I was already 14, attending a private school wouldn't really benefit me at that point. I've also lived in five different countries for extended periods of time; hence the quadrilangualism? or multilingualism. All private schools teach differently and all >good< schools expect their students to be at a certain level prior to being admitted. Every time I moved around, the language the different, the history was different, the entire curriculum was different. There was no possibly way for me to attend a "patrician" school because moving around crippled me a lot both socially and academically.

I'm pretty sure if I told you which high school I attended, you'd take back what you said about the "retards". For security reasons, I will not, but let's say the "dumbest" students from my school usually attend University of Virginia or such "stupid" schools. Technically, mine is a magnet school and the standard at my high school is much, much, much higher than all the public high schools in America. There are no retards, trust me. For example, only four black guys and three Hispanics in the ENTIRE school. Pretty fucking selective if you ask me especially since the school is composed of...91% Asians.

Lastly, if i can study for the MENSA test, i'm sure I can make it in. If not, then I'm not so sure. There are too many confounding reasons as to why a person is deemed "smart" or "stupid" and a single test cannot possible judge the capacity or capabilities of any individual.

OP posted some stuff trying to brag and included a picture of a letter to back his awesomeness up, but mentioned that he blacked out parts of it and left out information for security reasons. I then point out that he didn't black out the name of the woman he or his parents could contact and also left her contact information. He also left his very uncommon, for a person attending school in Virginia, first name, and a few other details. This was enough information for Cain to track down his exact school via a simple well crafted Google search. He then pulled all of the first post.
