How did this ever get so close. Yeah, Biden is as exciting as wallpaper glue, but really. This Trump fuck just beggars belief.

Dumb fucking animals trying to interfere with the vote counting in Detroit, even though dozens of their compatriots are already in the room "challenging" basically every single ballot:

Guess it depends on your definition of "close". Biden looks set to win the popular vote by an even greater margin than Clinton. Wouldn't be surprised if Dems fare similarly well at state level while still failing to win state legislatures. The narrowness of the EC victory does not reflect performance among voters.

Mitch called for Biden, and I think Wisconsin would be too, but for a recount. Trump can still (legitimately) win but it's an increasingly narrow path, I'd say. Need some major upset in the west.
Waiting to see the final popular vote tally is before I either say that this is a damning indictment of the Democratic party or the electoral college.

Lots of voter fraud claims being thrown around on social media - Hanlon’s Razor through typical government incompetence is the more likely case for discrepancies and dubious looking behavior. However... what if evidence comes to light of actual fraud? A poll worker caught throwing out a number of ballots for one side or another. Pro-active curing of ballots for one party but not the other by supposedly neutral poll workers. If caught it will likely still be impossible to know the full extent - what legal remedies would the courts consider in such a scenario?
You guys have held up hundreds of thousands of ballots and tried to prevent them from being counted, not to mention basically implementing a poll tax to subvert the will of Florida voters, but sure, I guess what you're making sense from the head-up-your-ass perspective.
Meanwhile, surprising evidence that US cops know how to not assault protesters:

Only dumb fucks like you think that was representative of the Democrats. There were many dumb fucks like you who are harassing people at polling stations. More dumb fucks harassing the Biden bus. And even more dumb fucks spreading disease at rallies.
And the fact dumb fucks like you think he's a good thing. Then you also have the reality that Trump campaigned far harder than Biden did.

This is how it is done.
That's fantastic.
I bet nobody thought that was particularly strange or special at the time. Now it seems completely alien.

Global stock markets climb on prospect of Biden presidency
I thought GOP were the party of the economy ...
And Trump's voters vote for him in the main because they believe (truly or falsely) that the economy is better in his hands than a Dem candidate.
Or is this a reflection of a global view that Trump is so completely dire that anyone but him, including a Dem candidate, is a boon to the markets?

"More stable" is not the same as "stable". If the GOP retains control of the Senate, they will do everything in their power to obstruct the Biden administration and the House, including sabotaging covid relief packages and the like. The policy implications are not predictable, and the situation can therefore not be described as "stable". Note, btw, that the "batshit crazy" of the past 4 years has been judged by the market as being quite excellent from a business perspective.

I don't know if I should blame or pity Americans when I think about the presidents they choose.

Another one showing how it is done.
If Trump does take this shitshow to court, and judges find just -1- case of fraud or Something Not Done Properly, he wins the argument and he'll be victorious.
I'm not sure what happens in terms of constitution and legal process, but I predict a clusterfuck on the scale the world has rarely seen.

I'm largely ignorant about 'Merica, but I think my point still stands?
If just 1 case is proven in a court, Trump wins.
What is presently going on isn't about individual votes or even blocks of votes. It's an attempt on the legitimacy of the entire vote. We should not forget that the electors can be released from their obligation of voting upon the basis of the vote cast by the voters in their state. The judges only play a bit role in this circus,
.
Congratulations America
I must say I am shocked at the organizational clusterfuck the states are making are making of counting votes. I am sure there are all sorts of 'explanations' for it, but I don't see how this should be so completely chaotic.
In an earlier job, I was confronted with a situation where over a million of people had to fill out a form and send it back so we could process the information provided. With a team of 5 temps I managed to get every single form processed. I imagine there are lot more counters available in this elections. Yet I see Georgia not being able to count 60,000 ballots left in a day.
Congratulations America
