Well, it's not worded to consider what a reasonable person would want... which is good, since "reasonable" is not exactly a word I'd use to describe most of the posters around here. And that's half the charm of this place.

All well and good to have a rule against being "excessively" offensive (whatever that means), but often the point is to be offensive. Just ask an artist, or a comedian. Carlin comes to mind... if he wasn't totally offensive, his work wouldn't have any artistic or social value... and he probably wouldn't be funny either. If you see what I'm getting at - being offensive for the sake of offending people is one thing, but just as often being offensive is a means of getting at something deeper or more important, etc.

But no, "lemonparty" is nowhere near comparable to the N-word. A graphic concept like lemonparty might be mildly offensive, but it hardly compares to the legacy of a word representing centuries of the harshest kind of oppression, and one that is still used as a verbal weapon today. The argument is that there are some things that should be out of bounds, right? And the N-word doesn't qualify? Or is it a matter of context?
