I can't make Wraith fix it.

I'll have to beg and plea
    Do the symphony

I could have had class. I could have been a contender.
I could have been somebody. Instead of a bum

I second herr Stardust's proposal; at least the Penis Arcades forums manage to keep my threads unread between sessions

    (snerk, sessions)
In the future, the Berlin wall will be a mile high, and made of steel. You too will be made to crawl, to lick children's blood from jackboots. There will be no creativity, only productivity. Instead of love there will be fear and distrust, instead of surrender there will be submission. Contact will be replaced with isolation, and joy with shame. Hope will cease to exist as a concept. The Earth will be covered with steel and concrete. There will be an electronic policeman in every head. Your children will be born in chains, live only to serve, and die in anguish and ignorance.
The universe we observe has precisely the properties we should expect if there is, at bottom, no design, no purpose, no evil, no good, nothing but blind, pitiless indifference.

Should be better now. Information may have been just now lost on what threads were previously read, though. Unavoidable side-effect of the switch.

    That's a good switch

Images I post don't seem to appear at all.

http://img204.imageshack.us/i/whathavetheydone.jpg/ --> if I enclose it with [img] and [/img] tags it just disappears from my post. I have no idea why..?

That's a website, not an image. You can grab the text from the "direct link" on the right side of that site, and that'll be the address you use in the image tag. Quote this post to see how I did it; depending on your posting preferences, you may need to click the A/A button in the top right to see the code instead of the image.

Thanks. That's kind of weird that it should disappear if I put img tags around it, though.

    What Illusions said.

It's a feature to prevent DBZ-types from breaking the horizontal scroll with 400 exclamation points after every "sentence."
"I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them."

Is there an actual usefulness you see to having words with greater than 50 characters in them? Because I think that covers most words in the English language, save for really long chemical names, or horrendously long or precise numbers...

    Of course not.

I just made the observation that it happened, while making my usual "your time-zone sucks monkey-dicks, wraithykins, because I want to discuss what was on Lost with you" comment.

Seriously now, can we stop having viewed/commented threads dissappear from the User CP & Whats New listings? The old way of bold/unbold made it much easier to bounce around.

Am I missing something here? Bold/unbold is still the way my view differentiates between read/unread.

    Is it theme-dependent or something?

Not theme dependent from my tests, also not a setting for a specific machine, problem started when I was on vacation at the step parent's house (XP [IE, Chrome]), continued on my laptop (7 [IE]), and I still get the issue at work (XP [IE 7]).
It only messes with the Whats New and first load of the User CP thread list. If I click on Subscribed Threads, I then can see everything I've posted in, with the bold/unbold setting.

So what then, did I break?

Well, I don't use the User CP at all, so maybe that's why. It's probably just a bug in the rootkit Wraith installed on all our machines through this site.

The server now tracks what's been read and builds the what's new list intelligently to keep things on it genuinely new. I assume it's the same situation for your User CP thread list, but not 100% because I don't use it and am presently too lazy to run a test. You can use the back button to keep the what's new list from regenerating, and even refresh it then and get things to still be marked if you've read them.

If you want to get rid of the server-side tracking feature, could you make a poll please? I think one other person also expressed dissastisfaction with the change (though he may have been joking), so there might be others who haven't spoken as well.

Hey, could we get something a bit more visible to tell us when we have a PM?
Last night as I lay in bed, looking up at the stars, I thought, “Where the hell is my ceiling?"

  21. #231
Do you have notifications turned on?
Hope is the denial of reality

  22. #232
There's the option to have a pop-up message when you get a new one. You can activate it in your CP.

I showed I did have that set to provide pop-ups, and just toggled it off and back on to make sure. I don't have email notification turned on, granted, as that's just obnoxious.

Is it not working? This may be because of your browser settings, if it won't even notify you when a site tries to send a pop-up.

Works for me. (Up to date version of Firefox, with pop-up blocking on.)

Why are we not allowed to lock our own threads? :/

Why should you be able to?

Or delete our threads for the matter and why not?

If you want a thread deleted or closed, you are welcome to take it up with Dreadnaughty and Randy.

If they think you have legitimate reasons for doing it, they will.

Or maybe they'll just laugh at you.
