    Default EU - UK

Seems like there is a new agreement between the EU and UK about trade and other issues. Seems like the economy on both sides will benefit from the agreement. A lot of Brexit red tape could be removed on the basis of this agreement.

I mean, it's ok. We extended the EU's fishing fleet's access to UK waters for until 2038 in exchange for less checks at the border when exporting food to the EU. A fair quid pro-quo but pretty much everything else is subject to further negotiation. A positive step but I wouldn't get too excited yet.

The words you shared were cold transactions that bring me to curse what you've done
When you're up there absorbed in greatness with such success you've grown complacent
I hope you scorch your many faces when you fly too close to the sun

Indeed. What I don't understand is the furore about fishing again. First of all it's not really a change on the current situation, but the wider deal potentially gives British fishers access to the EU market again.

I understand the position on both sides, what I don't understand is why it holds up much more significant agreements (like on defence) when it's such a small part of both economies.

For the same reason they treated various free movement issues as insurmountable stumbling blocks until they suddenly weren't -- Labour leadership is totally committed to loser shit bc of a fixation with pleasing daddy McSweeney the Reform Voter Whisperer.
