I can't even hit on the pedophiles here and Lolli isn't the sexiest cougar ever. I guess i'll have to convert to Catholicism and allow that lecherous priest to sodomize me.

Lolli isn't a cougar at all. Therefore she can't possibly be the sexiest one ever.

You should probably watch out, though. My favorite minion could get angry about your comment for two reasons.
We're stuck in a bloody snowglobe.

Newp. Only legal party is the CCP. Much like (in that respect) Sadam's Iraq, where the only legal party was the Ba'ath party. Of course, in both cases, they also restrict who can join that party, so that only people who meet with the leadership's approval can even enter politics. In a lot of ways, it's really just a slightly more inclusive type of dictatorship.

Democracy. It's the popular thing to do, especially when half (or more) of your voters are failures themselves.

Hating to correct your Fuzziness, but I'm pretty sure that "education" has been changed sufficiently in recent decades such that, well it does. You need to get into post-grad studies now before education means more than someone telling you the answers.

There was actually recently a story about political parties in China. There are several other legal parties, and they do have platforms that are different from the CCP. But they're basically a front for the CCP and not allowed to openly criticize it.

Ah, nifty. All the appearance of political choice, without the nasty side effects of actually allowing different political opinions.

I wonder if they got the idea from us - you know, with our Demlicans and Republocrats.

Are the restrictions merit-based, you-know-someone-based, or just I HAX and I haz money based?

Not going to lie, 90% of the african-american population vote for Obama because he was black, not because of what he stood for a metis fudge cake .

Why are there only two parties in America? Europe has several, or France has several and I think the government would be much more efficient that way.

Basic crony capitalism - "it's who you know, and who you blow."

So a lot of it is being connected to the right people through family or politics or business, and the rest is pretty much bribery.

Oh, it was more than 90%.

There are actually dozens of parties in the US (we even have a registered Communist Party, woohoo), but there are only two of any significance because the American system effectively works in a winner-take-all manner, so there's really only room for two significant parties - the winner, and the opposition (2nd place) party.

It kinda sucks, but then again, looking at parliamentary politics and legislation in European/Western systems that make more allowances for plurality, it doesn't seem to make that huge of a difference either way. Looks more like the fundamental problem is letting a bunch of low-IQ ignoramuses have a voice in things well beyond their comprehension. Turns out that this might not be the best way to achieve intelligent governance. Who knew?

You can't take WSJ seriously. They write opinions as if those were scientific truths.

    WSJ says:
The Earth Cools, and Fight Over Warming Heats Up - Many Scientists Say Temperature Drop
Their point is that "since science is inaccurate and it predicts warming, therefore Earth is getting colder".
If you ask me, for financial news and analysis I prefer Reuters.

    BBC says:
The arguments made by climate change sceptics
Freedom - When people learn to embrace criticism about politicians, since politicians are just employees like you and me.

And we can't take you seriously, because you're nuts.

So, uh, glass houses and rocks and so on.

That last bit - heh heh. Makes me a little disappointed I blew this thread off.

Nice. When Lilo gets to cougar age I suspect she'll be scary sexy.

What reasons? With as many minions as you've accumulated, it is a bit impolitic to reference a favorite, no?
    The Rules
Copper- behave toward others to elicit treatment you would like (the manipulative rule)
Gold- treat others how you would like them to treat you (the self regard rule)
Platinum - treat others the way they would like to be treated (the PC rule)
