    Read my sig

    Edit: Read my sig?
"Son," he said without preamble, "never trust a man who doesn't drink, because he's probably a self-righteous sort, a man who thinks he knows right from wrong all the time. Some of them are good men, but in the name of goodness, they cause most of the suffering in the world. They're the judges, the meddlers. And, son, never trust a man who drinks but refuses to get drunk. They're usually afraid of something deep down inside, either that they're a coward or a fool or mean and violent. You can't trust a man who's afraid of himself. But sometimes, son, you can trust a man who occasionally kneels before a toilet. The chances are that he is learning something about humility and his natural human foolishness, about how to survive himself. It's damned hard for a man to take himself too seriously when he's heaving his guts into a dirty toilet bowl.

Mage, dear, you can't claim offense when you use a a term yourself.

I don't think so. I always remembered him being crucif...on second thoughts, beats the alternatives.

The word "an?" That was the most important part?

If that's true, you're doing this whole "language" thing wrong.

Besides, I replaced it with "[...]" - that is the recognized symbol for "something was omitted here." And really, if you're not going to laugh it off when I twist your words into a minor funny, I don't know what you expect me to do. That's pretty much all I do around here, unless someone's trolled me into posting about being a libertarian and making the rivers run red with the blood of the government and its supporters.

Meanwhile, back in Virginia, Young Mage accidentally made Cain feel guilty. I think I just made history.

I was joking anyways, I don't really get offended that easily. Acting out is too much fun.

Well, since you clearly haven't read anything I've ever posted, I should introduce myself.

"Hi, I'm Cain. And you are?"

Well, to be fair, it has happened from time to time (though not over anything online). But that's why I always keep a fifth of guilt antidote nearby!

You referring to all the people who drink alcohol alone in their room? I don't think there's much of a correlation between alcohol consumption and having fun.

How joyous it is that correlation isn't causation!
In the future, the Berlin wall will be a mile high, and made of steel. You too will be made to crawl, to lick children's blood from jackboots. There will be no creativity, only productivity. Instead of love there will be fear and distrust, instead of surrender there will be submission. Contact will be replaced with isolation, and joy with shame. Hope will cease to exist as a concept. The Earth will be covered with steel and concrete. There will be an electronic policeman in every head. Your children will be born in chains, live only to serve, and die in anguish and ignorance.
The universe we observe has precisely the properties we should expect if there is, at bottom, no design, no purpose, no evil, no good, nothing but blind, pitiless indifference.

You need a drink and to relax. Just one, though.

A lack of a correlation does imply a lack of causation however.

I relax just fine without drinks. But thanks for offering.

I'm actually indifferent about alcohol. I drink it when offered. I just don't see why people think alcohol is necessary to have a good time.

And when applied to the women, it makes you look go enough go home with! (That's my personal favorite use for alcohol, at least.)

So what's the point? From what I've read, it doesn't exactly help when it comes to certain activities either.

I think the point depends on what/why/where/withwhom/etc.

So does the effect on certain activities.

Only if those individuals are too uptight to do the things in question without alcohol.

I dont know what you are trying to say!

    I was referring to everyone!

Both correlation and causation may apply to studies of alcoholism as it provides a temporary elevation in mood but a long-term depression of mood!

Well, you read wrong. A drunk chick is so much easier to get off than a sober one. Plus, they lose track of time and may get the impression that you're a marathon lover.

    Seriously...

That only works if you're not drunk as well. And given how alert a drunk chick would be, you'd be just as well in using another object.
