    Default Up In The Air

I finally watched this last night - I've had the disk for two months, but I was burning through 5 years of The Office instead. Had to test out the new blue ray player and wanted a dvd to watch to see how good it up converts to 1080p. Anyway...

I thought the movie was good. It avoided some cliches, which is nice. Embraced some others, but whatever. Part of it was shot in Detroit Metro Airport, which was fun to pick out. A few spoiler comments and questions:

    Spoiler:
Who saw the love interest is married coming? I sniffed that out as soon as he was clearly falling for her and was just wating for it when he went to Chicago. Too bad he blew his break-through speaking engagement on her. Woops.

Who thought the suicide was a little melo-dramatic? I'm almost surprised they didn't work in someone going postal or something.

Was that whole 10 million frequent flyer miles thing completely made up, or is it based on reality? Anyone know?

I saw it a while back and enjoyed it, against my will much of it felt very contrived.

I loved the soundtrack Esp. the cover of This Land, by Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings

That pic at the start of that video, which is blocked in my country, is at Detroit Metro Airport. My daughter got all wet in that fountain on our way to Disney World one year.

    Spoiler:
I also totally called that she was married early on. Not sure why, it just seemed like it was all going to it.

But liked the movie still. But wait...what suicide?

first point, I called it because it was too good to be true and if it was true it would be sappy. Second point, it was why the girl quit.

Ohhhh, right. I agree, especially because it was a product of them meeting in person instead of via video conference.

As for the miles, well yes and no:
