If Phoxe/Atari had any sense, they'd just simply shut the ACC down. When the Unreal series left the forums i generally thought the process went quite smooth, i also appreciated the hard(ish) work that went into letting us Unreal 2 folks stay in our own little forum with our beloved pub. The past shows how things should be done. How can someone cock this up SO much is beyond me.

Edit: No, honestly, this really does take the piss, he better have a damn good explanation as to why it was deleted, as it was crafted to avoid any and all unapproved topics, had a calming, friendly tone, was "fun", and even had a positive message that there are no mistakes or failures, just happy accidents.

That was a well-managed move. The funny thing is that it wouldn't have been originally. It was announced they would be closed in the mod forum, they had to be by a particular date because of contracts, but the admin didn't see any reason to wait around. Lor and I had loads of discussions and I and others put forwards loads of arguments to the admin of other ways to manage the transition and in the end it went really smoothly, even getting the Legendary Discussion forum created.
Try having a discussion with Phoxe about alternatives and he either point-blank ignores you or punishes you. Is it a surprise which method worked out better?
Why should we care now? I was already fed up, the roughshod and unfair treatment of Dread was the final straw. Why give a damn about that place now, its dead. A shame, but Phoxe has killed and gutted it out, I don't think even if Phoxe were fired it could be undone any more. And that won't happen.
Biogal has always hated the CC. Her and Skipper used to nickname it the Community Cesspool.

Not the whole return PM, but the important part. I'd like to point out that my thread wasn't closed, it was just straight up deleted without any explanation to myself. It was posted before I went to sleep and when I logged in later, gone. Given the current rules, and the fact that Timmy will now delete (not close, delete) threads that "have no real point" and "aren't going anywhere", I don't see anything that can be posted in the CC at all, as Phoxe's rules pretty much don't permit anything that isn't pointless banter without an end goal.

Well there is one other thing we could try, the initial "The Joy of Emoting with Illusions" was based off the idea of discussing "The Joy of Painting with Bob Ross" which would likely be the only thread that could never lead to discussion of anything that was adult in nature, highly doubtful to arouse a heated debate, and would per the nature of its television host, be nothing but friendly. However I figured someone might troll it or lock it once they discovered that Ross ends each episode with a casual goodbye, a friendly wave and "God bless my friends." ...so I went with that. My other alternative was to discuss Lamb Chop's Play Along, however its been decades since I've watched that so wouldn't have been able to start a decent thread. I actually turned down the idea of discussing Mister Roger's Neighborhood, as that might get too controversial with his social commentary (which I don't think was ever negative).
