    American Woman, .

We were done shooting for the evening. The girls wanted to go home, and unfortunatley, I rode with one of them. I spotted this walking back to the cars, and to the chior of *sighs*, set up my tripod...

I'm glad we get to see the things you see!
In the future, the Berlin wall will be a mile high, and made of steel. You too will be made to crawl, to lick children's blood from jackboots. There will be no creativity, only productivity. Instead of love there will be fear and distrust, instead of surrender there will be submission. Contact will be replaced with isolation, and joy with shame. Hope will cease to exist as a concept. The Earth will be covered with steel and concrete. There will be an electronic policeman in every head. Your children will be born in chains, live only to serve, and die in anguish and ignorance.
The universe we observe has precisely the properties we should expect if there is, at bottom, no design, no purpose, no evil, no good, nothing but blind, pitiless indifference.

basically digg committed user base suicide with their redesign, and as such Reddit has been flooded with new users. The mods, admins, and even some users have been doing really good at the assimilation process, but the jury is still out on the overall effect of this on the original feel of reddit.

I prefer Bitter's photography style to that of most others, mainly due to the abstraction present. The staircase one looks like Mondrian, and the one with the moon like an Escher. Its nice to see real life depictions of these styles. If I actually had money, and a place to put them, these would be photos I'd consider buying and framing.

I'm still thinking of Bitter's green Ford truck lying in disrepair. Those colors were hypnotic., the message potent. I've been wondering about buying that print for my son, since he already has an Escher book. Something about cars and young American men.....on their journeys....leaving old things behind but still loving rusty wheels?

<Of course the boy loves his beat up beater car. He really thinks it can take him months ahead, into Canada at the turn of winter, with a transmission that could blow any minute. He really believes he can just drive his way into bliss, that his car is his freedom. He can blast music, smoke pot, sleep in it with seats reclined, get drive-up food or use it as a trash can. He can have sex in his car, or drive into oblivion. Giving others rides is like a nirvana, something he really loves doing. His car is his freeeeedom. But he's a typical American suburban kid, and fairly naive.>

Therein lies the age old problem of trying to utilise artistic talent as a career path, even if people like or even love what you do most are unable or unwilling to express that appreciation with hard-earned cash. Thankfully for Bitter he is not just a talented photographic artist, he is a damn fine jeweller, kite builder, glass blower, dresser and manicurist of expressive facial hair.

Talent in any field is such an intangible thing it is often referred to as a "gift" by those who underestimate the hard work, effort and study usually involved. Clearly though some people have more talent than others regardless of how much time and effort is invested, those people become critics or teachers.

    Obligatory picture:

His cakes are awesome, too. And he has a koi garden and a green thumb. He can blow glass and build bookshelves. Bitter is our most talented artistic member. Period!

(that last image kinda hurt my eyes, who the hell was that?)

Did you mean the pic I posted of the shaving, smoking chick? It's a photographers attempt at tipping the hat to Helmut Newton....

That's what I like to do most. I am not that good with people photos, landscapes are boring...
I love going out and finding pure composition in everyday things. I never had the imagination to draw or paint abstract work. But I can find it all around me.

My next goal is to try to get a show in a gallery. *giggles*
I only wish my mom was here to see me now.

    Thanks for your comments,
Half an hour or so later, (or earlier, if that was taken during sunrise) the lamp would look fucking awesome. In my opinion, anyway - I *love* good lamp photos. You've caught a time when the lamp is, for the lack of a better term (FMVocab), fighting with the background for the leading role in this shot. They're ruining each other's play right now, but just a while earlier or later, you'd have a clear winner there...
