Unlimited landline + unlimited calls to those within my mobile carrier. Since nearly all my friends and family are within the same carrier, that's no biggie And it's 40€ per month - where did you learn to do maths?

Though they recently also introduced the O2 o tarif: Every call costs 13.5 cents per minute, up to a total of 45€ which is the maximum amount of money they'll charge you. No other monthly costs.

The Cat in the Hat remains one of childhood's favorite book characters, a goofy, not-very-catlike cat who is always making a mess out of poor Nick and Sally's house. But in a new series, "The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About That," the funny feline puts on a scientist hat. The animated show helps preschoolers learn about science, from giant sea worms to the making of honey. (Premieres Sept. 6, PBS, check local listings for times.)
This sounds so entertaining. I need a preschooler.

Being restricted to one network isn't something I could handle, I need to speak to anyone and everyone.

    What can I say, I'm f***ing tired.

Still, I'd rather pay the extra €10 per month to not be tied in with one network and a sensible amount of web data. Different strokes for different folks.

There are some people which cheer me up simply by their presence. Having spent half a day with such a person, not to mention that I wasn't in particular need of cheering up, I feel sort of awesome.

LOL, I've been tuning into PBS lately to get a feel for what kind of shows I want to let K watch. Still love Sesame Street after all these years. I think this show might be on in the early afternoon so I'll have to check it out. She's too young to really watch it (though she does like to stare at the TV already ), but I put the shows on anyway so I can watch while I'm feeding her.

€25,95 unlimited landlines and within the network + 100 messages, combined with prepaid voip and a bunch of phonenumbers (I now am up to 15 numbers) that also enables me to call mobiles in Holland for €0.06 a minute and in Turkey for €0.02 a minute (from my mobile).

What's real sweet is that if somebody calls my Dutch mobile when I am in Turkey I can re-route it in such a way that I pay 2 cents a minute for the incoming call on my Turkish line. People don't have to know any numbers than the Dutch one they have, and still I don't have to pay like €1.50 a minute for an incoming call on that Dutch line in Turkey
    Congratulations America

Don't know how sesame street does it, but Scarlett absolutely loves Elmo. She will stand infront of the playroom TV and bang it when he comes on. Took her to Busch Gardens once and he was walking around. She reached out to I assume give him what Brandy calls her "slobbery" kisses, but it ended up looking like Scarlett was trying to eat him.

Anyway, I've got a 3 day work week this week. Thats pretty damn awesome.

    You paid him?

    Shame if you had to

    Ditto to Lolli

  14. #1604
Yeah, unfortunately, I paid him. I just wanted it done. It would have possibly not gone to trial today, for some things that needed ruled on first. So it may have cost that much or more anyways. I am fine with it. It's over. A huge weight of fear and anxiety has been lifted. It's palpable.

Now I can get back to kicking butt!!!

Story to come when I have time.

I had to fix the custom audio switch under my desk. I've missed the smell of solder and flux.

The Wisconsin-based Freedom from Religion Foundation plans to blanket the metro Atlanta market this week with 50 billboards that shun religion and advocate separation of church and state.

The billboards, which will run for a month, include such messages as "Imagine No Religion", "Sleep In On Sundays" and even a quote from the late Thelma "Butterfly" McQueen, who played the maid Prissy in "Gone with the Wind." McQueen, a longtime member of the foundation and an atheist, is quoted as saying " "As my ancestors are free from slavery, I am free from the slavery of religion."

Co-President Annie Laurie Gaylor said the foundation hopes to enhance the visibility of the organization, which includes atheists, agnostics and freethinkers. "I do believe that religion causes more harm than good," she said. She said the foundation is concerned about the taboo surrounding criticism of religion. "You can talk about everything else, but you sure aren't supposed to say anything bad about religion."

The foundation has more than 16,000 members nationally and 270 in Georgia.

She said the tab is being picked up by foundation members, but declined to say how much the billboards in metro Atlanta cost.

    Fuck

    Yes

In the future, the Berlin wall will be a mile high, and made of steel. You too will be made to crawl, to lick children's blood from jackboots. There will be no creativity, only productivity. Instead of love there will be fear and distrust, instead of surrender there will be submission. Contact will be replaced with isolation, and joy with shame. Hope will cease to exist as a concept. The Earth will be covered with steel and concrete. There will be an electronic policeman in every head. Your children will be born in chains, live only to serve, and die in anguish and ignorance.

Went shopping today and bought our bedroom furniture: bed, cupboard, wardrobe etc the whole set. Because we're moving the furniture will be delivered to our new house, because I was paying today (and on interest-free credit) they said to take our current address for credit checks then call up after to change the delivery address.

Went to Starbucks after and as we were leaving the shopping centre (after having bought a Wii game in another shop) realised we'd left the receipt/invoice on the table. Was in a cardboard, black "Next Home" folder so I went back to Starbucks and asked them if they'd seen it since it was no longer on the table. The 'barista' disappeared for a while then a manager came over with it to apologise, said that they'd found it but thought it was rubbish so they'd put it in a bin. He'd taken it out of the bin, coffee-stained and gave it to me with his apologies and gave me a handful of vouchers for free drinks with his apologies. Got 4 free drink vouchers for any drink they sell.

I'd have been happy with an explanation that it was in the bin sorry, and more than happy to apologise to him for having dug it out of the bin, wouldn't need compensation. The fact they gave me the vouchers for what was essentially our mistake was impressive I thought

    Indeed

I'm a sucker for quality service. I don't mind paying more for a chain with good quality and good service, but provide bad service and I won't come back. Starbucks is expensive, no denying that, but I've always found the quality and the service excellent so I'm not just paying for the drink, I'm paying for the fact I know for 10-15 minutes there I'll have a nice time.

Also in the Trafford Centre there's an American-style restaurant, TGI-knock off it seems (coincidentally now next to TGI since that opened). Went there a couple of times years ago and the food was great, the prices were quite cheap but the service was so bad I just didn't enjoy the meal despite the good food. Stopped going before long. Went back again a month or two ago after having not been for well over a year, thought to give it another try ... was worse than ever, the manageress only seemed to care about ensuring everything was finished so they could go home quickly after closing (we arrived a full hour before they closed). Was ignored throughout the meal - which I always find stupid, why ignore a customer who's trying to buy drinks off you? Not going back again after that.

You know, it is the smart things for Starbucks to do. Not only do they have a happy customer, they gave him a few free drinks which cost them next to nothing, and ensures you will be back multiple times, AND you're telling all your friends how nice Starbucks is. Win-win

Agreed about crappy service. My parents recently left a restaurant because nobody bothered to ask them what they wanted for 10 or 15 minutes. And not being able to place your drink order is always very annoying, and stupid too because that's a thing restaurants make a lot of money on. Excellent service is always a big reason for me to go back to a place (and to tip them!).
Keep on keepin' the beat alive!

After months and months of waiting our new house should be finished now!

It gets its NHBC inspection tomorrow and if (as it should) it passes that then we move in two weeks tomorrow. If it doesn't, we're kind of f***ed having handed in our notice of course

My food basket this week has all sorts of yummy goodness in it.

    I my veggies (and fruits).

There is an avocado in it, though. Blech.

Tonight we're having steak for dinner, too (that's assuming I can get this propane grill to light, that's a fairly big if).
