Thread: The Procrastination Thread

    Default The Procrastination Thread

Let's see if we can find the loser, err, winner!

I've had a gift for a friend for months now. Still sitting in the bag in my closet, until I could get around to adding some other things to the package. If I have to wrap it in bubble wrap and put it in a box, tromp to the PO and fill out the papers, it should have more than just one item. With a nice personal note.

But the note should be on nice paper (on the list) written by hand in ink (found the fountain pen but can't find the ink cartridge---another thing for the list) with some interesting stories. Or something. Not much has happened but a change of seasons, really. But who wants a note talking about the damn weather, if they have to tromp to the PO to get the package?

Maybe I could put it off until Christmas, then it would be festive and all that. I've done that before, too. Waited to send a thank you note or "I've moved" card until a holiday comes along. I have a stack of Happy Belated Birthday cards, too, because it's just one of those things I can't seem to do on time.....

oh yeah, and I have boxes of holiday cards, just sitting there. Christmas became New Year's, then Valentines Day, then Happy Spring, then--well who the hell wants Halloween cards?

I have a sympathy card sitting here from almost a month ago when my friend died of complications of cancer. His sister-in-law and I have been friends for years, and I went to school with 2 of his 3 brothers! I have the stamp even. It's just a matter of signing the card and walking a whopping 1/2 block to the post office and dropping it in the slot!

Of course, I am the one that has been trying to go thru boxes of shit in storage for almost 4 years now! I am beginning to think I am hopeless!
I don't have a problem with authority....I just don't like being told what to do!Remember, the toes you step on today may be attached to the ass you have to kiss tomorrow!RIP Fluffy! 01-07-09 I'm so sorry Fluffster! People who don't like cats were probably mice in an earlier life! My mind not only wanders, sometimes it leaves completely! The nice part about living in a small town: When you don't know what you're doing, someone else always does!

I'm taking 6 years and one month to finish a 3 year education. Even with my extracurricular activities and the credits I have already earned for my MSc, that seems lazy to me.

And the worst thing really is that I am still pretty much an average student with regard to speed and above average with grades at this university (and still our students are very popular with employers and regarded high at other universities).
Keep on keepin' the beat alive!

    All threads are procrastination threads.
    The Rules
Copper- behave toward others to elicit treatment you would like (the manipulative rule)
Gold- treat others how you would like them to treat you (the self regard rule)
Platinum - treat others the way they would like to be treated (the PC rule)

I guess the old adage is true...you snooze, you lose!
