I'm unsure how a Democrat holding racist opinions negates the idea that Conservatives have been known to hold racist opinions and attempt to pass or uphold racist laws.
You brought up a guy who pales in comparison to the Democratic guy.

Your attempting to claim Lincoln would be a member of the modern Republican party is equally ridiculous as Lincoln went to war with the Confederacy in order to maintain the United States as a whole, with the Confederacy seperating due to its positions on States' rights over Federal laws, in addition to its positions on slavery.
There was a a R next to his name. In addition just to be clear here, Lincoln fought to preserve the union not end state's rights. Someone can hold the belief that Texas knows more about Texans then the United States congress and still not be in support of succeeding from the union, nice try though.

I can't tell but does the Republican party still support racial profiling when it comes to matters of security? I'd also say that they've adopted other forms of bigotry, because outright trying to go back on the Civil Rights movement would be political suicide.
Hey there is a suspect. He is 50 year's old, driving a 2001 Ford, he is clean shaven and is white, he suspected of killing someone. Now they are looking for this guy and so under the idea liberal idea our police can't immediately discard blacks from the search file? Now that is absurd. Airport monitoring on a statistical sampling of people more likely to do something isn't any more racist then my above example.

So essentially the crazy portion of the Tea Party, or at least the ones that get air time?
Anyone who supports not voting for someone based on the color of their skin is a racists and *NEWS FLASH* they are not a representative portion of any major political group or following. The "Tea Party" is not racist. The vast, vast majority of those who describe themselves as part of the tea party are not racist.

Of course remember leftists in the media don't like the tea party movement. And there is a dedicated movement to infiltrate and "crash" tea parties.

So if you have a mistaken impression based on what you observe in the media it is quite understandable.
