Agreed. Good work. Hopefully, you'll be able to leverage it into a job you like soon.

There are a ton of parodies for her not being a witch. Most are chuckle-worthy, even one with Nixon, but this one made me laugh. Especially the end part with Jimmy Stewart.

How long did the site take? I actually never knew you did that kind of work if i'm completely honest hence why i was even more impressed.

On another note, i done my presentation this morning. It lasted 12 mins apparently (i beg to differ) but my MD and other Senior Managers were happy! They liked my proposals, amazed by my figures (figures showed the cost of poor warehouse management to the business over a financial year).

    So glad that's over with!

    Excellent!

Puts a spring in your step once you've gotten past something like that, particularly if you did well.

How did your perception of how you did compare to the perception of those you presented to?

Vastly different, if i'm honest with you. I felt i could do better and always had that thought before doing it. However in contrast my manager stated before the presentation that he reckons i'll pull it out of the bag with no hick ups.

I got told 45 mins ago that the managers and the MD have stated they wish to start looking at my proposals next week and will put the agenda to everyone in the management meeting next week so they must be happy with it. The various other people in the presentation also gave it the thumbs up and said it was nicely done.

A job, especially soon, would be excellent, as well as that part where I like it...

Six months...I wrongly assumed how easy it would be to do, plus the amount of work I had to do to whittle down work projects to stuff I mainly did and that was substantial and showable was pretty extensive as well. Lesson learned. Don't put off making a whole portfolio in addition to building a site for it until you're unemployed. Update as things get finished.

The permanent game room I've been pushing for at the library is almost ready. The walls are finished and they've hung sort sort of wire design on them that supports displaying materials, I've got a TV stand, 42" LCD, and a locking case for the console (currently going to be a PS2), and some rocker chairs. The steering committee in charge of policies has to get with legal to iron out the rules, and someone better find the damn TV plug, but it looks like I'll be all set to open up on National Gaming Day

There's a new(ish) kids station that is airing episodes of The Wonder Years. I've missed the first few, but I'll survive. This is just brilliant!

Ya, I just discovered that channel this week too!

I stumbled on it while surfing the channel guide and saw Fraggle Rock was on. LOL

Doogie Howser is on late in the evening too.

Hehe my dvr is going to get full of old shows in no time.

It's seriously about time that the good ones show up.

Now some station needs to provide me with The Muppet Show.

Oh, the Muppet Show! Been tempted to actually buy it on DVD since it is never shown on TV. I think Netflix does have a season or two....

I watched Fraggle Rock as a child, it's kind of the ultimate flashback show for me.

I got likened to Lewis Hamilton last night, not quite sure i see the resemblance or the mannerisms but it's a compliment to say the least.

http://www.pieshop.co.uk/ and http://www.taylorspieandmash.co.uk has made me smile like a little boy. I'm sure any London based folks here might be able to explain what the fuss is all about. This brings me back to my childhood, so happy .

Thanks guys/gals Scarlett would say it too if she could.

Last week I had a sit down with the Library Director of HCPLC. Due to some shuffling he will also be the acting Manager of the downtown library and my direct rater. Meeting was supposed to be 30 minutes, but we really got into things and ended up going over an hour. The good, the bad, how I ended up here, what I'm expecting. He was extremely easy to talk to, I was comfortable enough to call a few current procedures disasters. He told me what he wanted to do with the library and I really got a sense of how much he loves this system. I've worked here for 9 1/2 years and I've never talked to the guy before this, I always considered he a stand offish person who was stuck with the hard decisions that you can't win with.

Well, the sit downs have continued with the remaining staff, and I've had more than one person come up to me and tell me how he talked about how great my ideas were and how he wants more people like me working downtown.

I'm going to be tripping all over my ego now

Scarlett has gorgeous eyes. Bet she'll be a heartbreaker in about 15 years.

    And HAPPY belated BIRTHDAY CAT!

Finally prepared my taxes (I filed an extension because I never received paperwork from Florida). I've been dreading it all year because of the contest prize money and 401k I had to drain to survive. I thought I was going to owe big time, but it looks like I'm actually getting a refund this time! Party at Rachel's!
