Default Nessus, is the universe a hologram?

"One day, we shall die. All the other days, we shall live."

It is, in fact, a computing device.
    The Rules
Copper- behave toward others to elicit treatment you would like (the manipulative rule)
Gold- treat others how you would like them to treat you (the self regard rule)
Platinum - treat others the way they would like to be treated (the PC rule)

After reading through a few days worth of a reddit bitchfest, I'm come to hate how pop media has twisted what this research is doing.

They are measuring what happens to light and space (and time) at a really really really small scale. They are doing it in such a way that it might help reconcile what we think we know about spacetime with what we think we know about quantum physics.
Basically, this will give us more evidence to develop a rigorous unified theory.

    Official proposal
The words "hologram" and "holograph" do not appear in the proposal at all. The phrase "2-dimensional" appears only once, and not in any conceptual context. The problem is with people thinking about science fiction holograms, rather than what scientists mean by holograms.

Whatever it means, it smells like a tautology to me.

I work with energies that allow me to converse only with electrons, so I don't have any expertise to offer you

That said, I don't understand what they mean with this hologram business. The Planck units represent the smallest units that make physical sense as we understand it, and he's trying to see if he can smell them or not.
In the future, the Berlin wall will be a mile high, and made of steel. You too will be made to crawl, to lick children's blood from jackboots. There will be no creativity, only productivity. Instead of love there will be fear and distrust, instead of surrender there will be submission. Contact will be replaced with isolation, and joy with shame. Hope will cease to exist as a concept. The Earth will be covered with steel and concrete. There will be an electronic policeman in every head. Your children will be born in chains, live only to serve, and die in anguish and ignorance.
The universe we observe has precisely the properties we should expect if there is, at bottom, no design, no purpose, no evil, no good, nothing but blind, pitiless indifference.

My question is, if its computing something, then what?

The mice are probably responsible, they usually are.
