matryoshka, matrusjka, same thing Maybe this is another example of phonetic translations?

Is babushka the word you were looking for?

    Thanks! Babushka dolls! That's it!

(funny, I thought babushka meant that scarf thing tied under the chin.)

The only reason these pages appeared on Google was because Google forced them to be there. There was nothing that made them naturally relevant for these searches. If they started to appeared at Bing after Google, that would mean that Bing took Google’s bait and copied its results.

This all happened in December. When the experiment was ready, about 20 Google engineers were told to run the test queries from laptops at home, using Internet Explorer, with Suggested Sites and the Bing Toolbar both enabled. They were also told to click on the top results. They started on December 17. By December 31, some of the results started appearing on Bing.
Google (according to this report) is claiming that Bing is getting better because they are copying Google results, and they are doing that by monitoring what their IE/Bing toolbar users are searching for and clicking on.
So much evil in one little sting.

Matryoshka is closer to the Russian. I've never heard the dolls called babushka dolls...
Hope is the denial of reality

It means grandmother. Babushakas sometimes sell matrushkas, though.

A guy hit me up for spare change outside the liquor store today.
He was wearing a leather jacket that was probably worth more than my car.

C'mon, I donate pricey shit to charity all the time, and so do most people I know.

There's a reason why well-off people visit thrift stores, you know.
We're stuck in a bloody snowglobe.

A lot of Brandy's babysitting toys are thrift store finds. $50-$60 dollar items for $3-$4.

  13. #1333
Yup, the thrift store has gotten many a nice thing from my house since we are trying to declutter. Gave them a lot of crap too but nothing too awful.

  14. #1334
I guess you had to be there.

Definitely not a thrift store look...more like an extra on Entourage.

OK, WTF is up with Glenn Beck? I just saw some clips of his show.....he's really really paranoid. More than "usual". He was talking about the leftists and SSSocialists and Communists (Obama) conspiring to save Babylon for the Supreme World Muslim Caliphate. Sweeping across northern Africa, middle east, on its way to America. Or something.

People really listen to this guy and buy his books?

It does prove that there's a market for a kathaksung cable TV show.

It looks like the football players will be the only ones scoring Sunday night.

    Seriously.

An online survey found that 73 percent of women would rather watch the Super Bowl than have sex. Men are split down the middle on their preferred activity, according to the online dating site Zoosk.

More than 1,000 people answered a variety of questions related to the two big games -- the Super Bowl and love.

Among other findings, men and woman agree the hottest player on the field will be the Steelers' Ryan Clark. And 57 percent of survey takers said they're most excited about the game itself, while 20 percent are looking forward to the commercials.

The survey also asked singles to pick which NFL player would make the best drinking buddy.

The guys' choice? Brett Favre. The ladies voted for Tom Brady.

So who wins Sunday? Flip a coin. It's anyone's guess.

    That's just wrong.

Just in case there was any doubt in anyone's mind, I am more interested in sex than the Superbowl. Also, I'd prefer my sexing to be with someone who has no desire to watch the Superbowl. They can watch the commercials the day after, though.

What the hell is wrong with these bitches, anyway?

I think the US has a culture where women think that sex is a man's reward, not something that should be enjoyed in its own right...

  21. #1341
So I should be feeling sorry for them?

So fine, they don't like sex.

That still doesn't explain why the hell they'd want to watch fucking football.

More women buy NFL football jerseys than men. I have no idea what that means.....

I think it's more of a case of them not wanting sex. If they had a third option asking if they're prefer to shop for shoes, they'd no doubt pick that over the Super Bowl.

    Gotcha.

Hmmm, throwing in that option makes it a lot more difficult, even for me.

I think I pick sex over shopping too, though.

What are you two going on about? Women who don't like football or feel like Super Bowl widows just go shopping (or whatever) anyway. Plenty of women I know LOVE Super Bowl Sunday and plan parties. Sex has nothing to do with it. But they also like to bet and get in on some lottery ladder. They're big in large institutions like hospitals.

Brandy: Whats with the pizzas and chicken wings from walmart?
    Jason: Super Bowl food
    Brandy: When is that?
    Jason:....This Sunday....
    Brandy: You work?
    Jason: Nope
    Brandy: Who is playing?
    Jason:...hell if I know

It's Green Bay Packers vs Pittsburgh Steelers. Two northern snow states with lots of blue collar history. People get worked up about that in PA.

I plan to visit my sister. We have a 90 minute (!) reservation at Massage Envy, we may see a movie (like Black Swan) and go out to dinner (probably Asian). No shoe shopping, but if there's time we could get a pedicure.

My sons are happy to hang with their boy friends and their dad, eat pizza and hot wings, and yell a lot.

Babushka still doesn't sound right to me, but it hit the target for my son. He's the one I was asking for and he was satisfied.

I called them tchotchkes or bobble dolls or cupcake cupies, not quite right.

Mother who cried rape after meeting man on dating website is jailed for two years

A mother was jailed for two years yesterday for crying rape against a man she met on a dating website.
Jennifer Day, 34, who made the false allegation against former boyfriend Andrew Saxby after a row, was told by the judge that she had undermined efforts to treat genuine rape victims fairly and sympathetically.

    Disgusting.
