Off home from work sick today - so just spent about an hour browsing xkcd.

Erm OG, I think you're a little late to the party. SP1 became publicly available on February 22nd.

wow a full month before it hit my windows update? I even googled it and the published date on the first non-microsoft link said March 21st.

The net is out to get me this week.

Well, according to the article, the publication date on the first non-MS link is February 22, 2011. I'm not seeing where Google is pulling that March 21, 2011 date from. And I'm not sure why it took so long for you to notice it on your updates since it came out as an Important update. Maybe your pc, rather than the net, is out to get you?

Consumerist is running their yearly worst company in america awards again. Comcast won last year and was mailed a pile of golden poo.
They ended up in the bracket again this year, and well...

rather than actually do anything about the problems that make it a perennial favorite, it will just beg its employees to vote — multiple times — for the other guy.
Comcast has always been a fan of really bad and obvious astroturfing, but this is just hilarious

Went to the Apple store today to get a replacement for my damaged iPod (no problems on that front). While I was waiting I decided to do a bit of trolling, so I got on a MacBook Pro and set its desktop background to a picture of the Windows blue screen. Hopefully some non-techy hipster will be freaked out and not understand the irony.

SCUMMVM finally works on my Milestone. Though they need to work a bit on the controls, haven't figured out how to do a right-click yet. However, everything that can be done by a right-click can also be done by a key command, so I can work around the problem.

Monkey Island 3 is a bit fiddly with some of the smaller stuff like rings and pins, though

I just ate a Cadbury Creme Egg.

I appreciate the bunny laying it for me.

Bunnies don't lay eggs. I'm afraid what you ate came from a different hole.

Wrote a 23-page conference paper in 2 days (I had the theory, data, and notes in advance), one hour before the submission deadline.

Next time do it with no prior prep.

    Wimp.

  15. #2445
That generally takes a week. I also have to present this, so it can't be crap.

Metallica was one of the groups that sued Napster back in 2000.
Now Sean Parker, one of the guys behind Napster, is looking to purchase Metallica's record label.

Molly survived the poisoning! (Read the What's messing with your groove thread to see what I mean.)

Someone who was mad at me has gotten over his mad! I am also feeling pretty good, altho I still have terrible insomnia! But, that's ok I guess, as long as I still keep getting better I can live with the little sleep I do get!

Got into my top choice for college. Still need to wait on financial aid info before I decide if I'm going there, but this is a load off.

We have already seen glory-in-the-snow, crocus, buds on trees, and my daffodils are blooming.

This is mainly for the other parents....

You know that point your kids reach, that you just know that they are finally able to understand stuff, that they want more, and have nothing but questions and curiosity?
Man, that is an awesome experience; finally seeing your kid light up and understand something the minute they see it instead of watching them work something out over the span of weeks/days/hours.

Took Scarlett to Busch Gardens today, and she wouldn't give up. It was nonestop "Whats that" and "Get that". She touched everything she could and wouldn't back down from any of the animals. She wanted on everything and wouldn't leave anything alone.

I know, I know, give me a day and the "what" and "why" questions will have me posting in the bad groove thread, but for now. I'm an extremely proud parent.

Metallica released their last record under that label in 2008, as such they're free agents - he'd have nothing to do with them right?

Here is a question to you fathers with daughter(s): Were you ever strict with them bringing a boyfriend round? Did you openly embarrass them for kicks? Did you like who they brought back?

The future Mrs Lor has already stated that if we have a daughter, that she can see me being overly protective.
