Yes an alcoholic has to choose to drink. There are plenty of alcoholics who don't drink.

Yes. And how many did manage to get off drinking without outside intervention? As I said: Logical hole. You're trying to tell us that a disease is not so dangerous after it has been treated...

I mean, you even cite the phrase of the group which helps people to stay off alcohol. If you were fully able to choose you would not need such interventions in the first place!
