On a side note, or back to the point, I can't tell anymore. None of the rights laid out in the constitution are absolute, nor were they meant to be. One reason that it allows for adding, repealing,and...uhm, amending any or all of the ...uhm, amendments therein contained, is that the founding fathers knew that society would evolve. That science would advance not only man's knowedge, but his danger to himself (eg...muskets to M-16's). They could not forsee what changes would take place, or predict the societal changes that would come. So they created a system they hoped (here's one where you're right about hope Loki) would continue to preserve freedom while maintaining security at the same time.
