A) You're paid to advance science, not to make your work accessible to the general public. If it should be accessible to anyone, it's the rest of the scientific community.
B) Yet again, publishers (and even journals) are not directly funded by the government.
C) Should any (legal) drug that is developed on the basis of government-funded basic research be provided to the public for free?
