    Vietnam used to be, at 8 years. (103 months, by the "official" recording: Gulf of Tonkin Resolution in Aug. 7, 1964 to March of 1973, when the last combat troops were withdrawn.)

    We attacked Afghanistan on October 7th., 2001. So, we're in... month 118. Closing in on that sweet ten-year anniversary! Heh, and they said it wouldn't last a year. Guess we really were "meant for each other" after all.
