Come visit next summer![]()
"One day, we shall die. All the other days, we shall live."
Would come next month, but oi the prices...
I bet it looks pretty good on Google Earth, too. In my underwear, with a beer, and some tunes. No TSA molestation or pronification required, and Google Earth is free.
"I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them."
"The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants."
-- Thomas Jefferson: American Founding Father, clairvoyant and seditious traitor.
If it makes you feel better, sex work isn't illegal in Sweden.
But paying for sex is.
Really?Over here it's all legal.
Then again, it's legal to sell, buy, have, and smoke weed here, but you're not allowed to keep any realistic stock (so all coffeeshops have too much), or to grow it in realistic numbers to supply coffeeshops. And then they are surprised that the production side is controlled by organized crime...
Keep on keepin' the beat alive!
Yeah, does seem like a funny/passive-aggressive way to ban something. "Nono, we're not going to ban you using drugs. You just can't have any drugs."
There is something to be said for not criminalizing use; I'd think it makes it much harder to admit to being an addict if you decide you want help if you're also admitting to being a criminal.
Right, and by criminalizing everything else about it, you get the added benefits of leaving all the big profits in the hands of violent thugs.

Aye, but the more important reason is that seeking medical attention when needed has a lower threshold if it doesn't mean you will be arrested because of it. That's why using hard drugs is not illegal here (and possession of amounts that are obviously for own use), while selling and buying it is.
Plus the criminality and violence that comes with organized crime. My area has a low intensity drug war going on, apparently mostly about weed (though xtc and coke are also big here), which has resulted in a couple of murders, armed robberies, and a few houses that were shot with machineguns. Oh, and the mayor of a neighbouring city was hiding in protection for a while!
Keep on keepin' the beat alive!
In the future, the Berlin wall will be a mile high, and made of steel. You too will be made to crawl, to lick children's blood from jackboots. There will be no creativity, only productivity. Instead of love there will be fear and distrust, instead of surrender there will be submission. Contact will be replaced with isolation, and joy with shame. Hope will cease to exist as a concept. The Earth will be covered with steel and concrete. There will be an electronic policeman in every head. Your children will be born in chains, live only to serve, and die in anguish and ignorance.
The universe we observe has precisely the properties we should expect if there is, at bottom, no design, no purpose, no evil, no good, nothing but blind, pitiless indifference.
