Well I don't know how it is at Omega's university, but the one I went to the lectures were split into three, two of them had the bulk of students, whilst the third was a smaller class (you had to enrol into which lecture you wished to attend), and apparently even then they couldn't cater for every single person, so the lectures were recorded. Yet another thing that was taken into account was that there were people who would rarely go to the lectures. The only time there weren't any seats left was in the first week (so people just sat on the stairs, even though it was against some fire code crap). It worked out in the end.
