But I'll give you that extra bit of help, again, and link to another.
The events these people organized were referred to as teabagging in the MSM, so why would those attendees not then be called teabaggers?

Its no different than someone living in America being called an American, a Florida resident being called a Floridian, or one of Dread's oldies, a Ron Paul supporter being a Paul Bearer (admittingly, thats a bit more of a stretch).
And I can point to some black rapper calling another nigger, or the LGBTI community's deliberate effort to claim the moniker "Queer" as a self-label counter to its common pejorative use. I don't know or care whether the root of "teabagger" is anti-gay sentiment or not, but you're trying to pull the same crap my mother's high school students do when she objects to them using "gay" to insult each other in her classroom. "We're not putting each other down, why would you think that Teach, do you have a problem with homos?" It's a load of bullshit, you're using it as a pejorative, we know it, you know it and you aren't enough of a sophist to dance around that.

Last night as I lay in bed, looking up at the stars, I thought, “Where the hell is my ceiling?"
