I read your post. I think you're wrong. You say we've learned nothing and that the only reason we don't burn cities anymore is because of Nukes and the Cold War. Well news flash, the US carpet bombed the shit out of North Vietnam and Cambodia during the height of the cold war. Today we're occupying two itty bitting countries with no Nuclear Power standing in our way, and we've been on pretty damn good behavior by comparison. There, your theory is directly contradicted.
