Do other countries also have this ridiculous custom of 30 years old bachelors (and bachelorettes!) having to sweep the stairs to the city hall until a virgin comes along and liberates the unlucky sod with a kiss?

Guys have been known to marry themselves off in a panic just to prevent that sort of thing!
