It isn't a excuse at all.

If your policies "depend on the next president" then yeah, they're lame.

And in case you didn't notice, the same principle applies to US diplomatic relations, regardless of the political process.

Wait, are we now talking about sentiments or policies?

Maybe we're talking about the motivations behind votes, as well as what votes mean.

And that seemingly opposing political principles can work together to achieve common goals.

When it comes to the middle east, policy is either about Oil or Israel.

  8. #278
Wouldn't you need to consider North Korea and the Panama canal to get the whole picture?

On sorry, what exactly is supposed to depend on who the next US president is, and why/how? Clarification pls

The disaster was the Dublin agreement which put the burden on the states least able to cope with it. Cameron called nothing 'on spot', Cameron merely advocated a system that kept the UK well protected behind the rest of Europe.

Asylum seekers in Cardiff are being forced to wear brightly coloured wristbands in order to get food.

[...] the wristbands which, similar to those worn at music festivals, cannot be taken off and put back on again.

So, there's a company saving money by painting all their rental properties in the same colours and now it's a dark complot to mark the houses where refugees live?

Next thing we know we're being told minarets are built next to mosques to make it easier to find them for anti-islamic vandalism.
    Congratulations America

I'm trying to figure out just how much money they're saving by painting some doors red.

Painting all doors they manage the same colour. By being consistent and buying paint in bulk it is cheaper, plus it is easier to maintain and doesn't require a stockpile of multiple paints. In other words it is standard operating procedure for many companies.

RB, look, I realise that this isn't some sort of British Nazi conspiracy. It's just interesting and a little sad to see some of the unintended consequences of naïve cost-cutting. Fortunately they'll be repainting the doors, although it's obv too late. Maybe they'll get around to implementing a better system for identifying those who are eligible for getting some food too. Something sophisticated like a cheap ID-card or something.

Randblade isn't that deep. He hires people for jobs that have high attrition.

Maybe Jomast is the same and that's why one of their ungrateful employees repainted a door red after the worried asylum-seeking residents had painted it white for free "company policy"

What crawled up your arse and died?

You don't know what business I'm in or who I hire. Haven't written it here for years.

I always assumed you were in some kind of retail/sales thing. And I know you haven't hired me! But being s remark is a little weird anyway, even if he is right I don't see what that has to do with refugees.

That said, making certain groups wear specific bracelets etc, even if it is not meant in a bad way.. let's just say it makes it hard for me not to do a Godwin when you get to that point.
Keep on keepin' the beat alive!

I assumed you were the proprietor of a pub for vampires. You're up really late, you're beyond [the] pale, you're less bloodthirsty and your job seems to require practicing arcane Excel magic. The implications are clear and obv such a job would indeed be characterised by high attrition

Wonder if they'll replace the wristbands with passes or photo ID. Wonder if the internet hate-mob will flip out if they do

They could easily replace it with a fingerprint scan at the place where they distribute the food.
    Congratulations America

People would probably be pissed off by the fact that they get the same treatment as schoolkids in the area

No, those started roughly 15 years ago when all-in tourist resorts became all the rage.
