That's why it's ironically funny, Loki. Bachmann was the one who wanted a thorough investigation of Congressional members for anti-American sentiments.

    WOW. Bitter, you rock.

(did you get to meet Ted Turner?)

  6. #3636
Whenever I see Ted, I think of Family Guy and I can't stop laughing. I am horrible.

  7. #3637
When I see Ted Turner...I first think of TED Talks, then Montana, then Jane Fonda...and eventually CNN, TNT, or Turner Classic Movies. Left to my own mental machinations, Teddy Roosevelt and the Teddy Bear come into play. Then I remember my kids watching their favorite movies on cable TV while hugging their favorite stuffed bear or Disney character. And how my special Pooh Bear and Little Bear books were transformed for the next generation...

by Ted Turner, and how he turned cable TV into the next revolution.

Well, I'm 41 now...if the Boys (7 and 5) can either keep in in their pants (or like other boys) I may not have much mooching time as it is.

Stinging nettle soup! I have finally made it, and it is a truly yummy thing. The past few days have been full of the good things in life: food, drink, company, love.

Friday gave me a perfect steak, a few good beers and an impromptu get-together at a pub. Saturday, at 1 AM, we decided to share the large roast lamb we'd planned to have for dinner. Some of our close friends whom we hadn't hung out with in like FOREVER came by for dinner--miraculous, given the short notice and how grown-up and organised everyone is these days--and it was terrific. Everyone was in a good mood, they got along well (several of them had never met), a couple of new boyfriends were inducted, and we just sat and talked and ate and drank (just a little ) for six hours. The food was delicious--a new starter that was very simple yet turned out omnom, lightly fried spring veggies, lots of salad, a ridiculously juicy roast leg of lamb and a great deal of truly inspired cumberlandPLUS-sauce. If I could've, I would've just glugged the sauce down straight. Oh yeah, ice-cream served with fresh berries!

Today, pork tenderloin with veggies and a good sauce... and the aforementioned nettle soup, which was jazzed up with some thinly sliced smoked ox heart. Yes, smoked ox heart. The half-price gods have been very kind to me great food to go with a fantastic series of video lectures on OB/GYN.

Why do we work? So we can eat.

Probably as with all those kind of dishes: Someone really hungry.

We're playing at a local festival next saturday, headlining after basically only local bands. So there's an announcement on a music website (which is fairly big for music news and show reviews), and we are called 'a real headliner' and 'local punk heroes'

Figured out/found a code that will save me tens of hours of tedious coding of several datasets. Shame I found this after spending 10 hours on it. Go me anyway.

Exactly. Bush increased spending by a trillion in the last budget due to the bailout. It wasn't meant to be permanent. Obama then went ahead and made the temporary expenditures permanent. Trust the Obama fanboys to twist the truth as usual.

This combined with smaller tax receipts, woohoo bush era tax cuts, deficit spending has been a problem. Not that I think slamming on the brakes during a recession would be a wise idea. The happy part was how facebook charts ended up being verified to show that Romney is lying, yet again.

Utterly irrelevant to the fact that spending increased by a trillion and never went down.

The only ones lying here are people who enjoy taking words grossly out of context to make a political point. And the fanboys who have no problem with such tactics.

Not like Romney was twisting the facts either, of course..
