Welcome home Spawnie & Momo! Nice to see you both.

Can someone post what Nessie actually wrote on Wraiths behalf? I'm quite curious to see how warming it may/may not have been considering the author.

Are you saying I'm anything but cuddles and kindness?

    Dear <CHARNAME>,

We noticed you have not participated in our discussions for some time. Perhaps you have felt we had nothing novel to say, perhaps you felt the way we spoke of things was disrespectful, and didn't warrant responses. But it is out of the voices of many that we may find true wisdom, it is the meeting of minds that makes our international forum so interesting! Your voice, your perspective, your thoughts and feelings, these are great contributions to our persistent dialogue, and we would very much like for them to return to our community.
In the future, the Berlin wall will be a mile high, and made of steel. You too will be made to crawl, to lick children's blood from jackboots. There will be no creativity, only productivity. Instead of love there will be fear and distrust, instead of surrender there will be submission. Contact will be replaced with isolation, and joy with shame. Hope will cease to exist as a concept. The Earth will be covered with steel and concrete. There will be an electronic policeman in every head. Your children will be born in chains, live only to serve, and die in anguish and ignorance.
The universe we observe has precisely the properties we should expect if there is, at bottom, no design, no purpose, no evil, no good, nothing but blind, pitiless indifference.

To be honest, I for one am curious about the various changes/experiences/etc you've obviously been going through. Maybe this stuff is known to the IRC mafia, but I'm in the dark and am interested in hearing what you've been up to/dealing with.

Ok Dread, well at the risk of being overly simplistic and dramatic, I do not live in fear today.

Mostly because I've been taught how to 'do the right thing' at all costs and above all else, by people that have had to learn to do that themselves.

If I were Christian I would say I am reborn and there's certainly a major element of that in my perception, though I remain non-religious.

I recall making a post to the forum in general a couple years ago attempting to make amends for my past errors on the forums. I remember that being accepted and was glad for that. It's one of the reasons I returned recently. Due to the unmanageable usage of substances, a flaw in my human nature, I lost touch with my values and faith and I behaved in and believed in things that were not of me.

The proof of the miraculous change in my life lies in the way I perceive it and the incredible things that have happened. Where before my life had become a self-created hell, it is now a gift granted me by factors greater than myself that I can't understand yet have proof of on a daily basis; that I can step back from and enjoy, that I appreciate for what it is.

That's all I'm going to say - and must add that I also feel I have nothing to prove.

I will also add that if anyone is struggling with addictive problems they are welcome to contact me and perhaps we could talk about some solutions that worked for me.

Last time you were here you really sounded positive. Seems like it's sticking, which is great to see.

Such a treat to see people gravitating towards absolute creaminess.

As long as you don't expect ME to suddenly fart rainbows and hug cute puppies, that's okay.
When the stars threw down their spears
And watered heaven with their tears:
Did he smile his work to see?
Did he who made the lamb make thee?

I think Momo will testify he was once like this, and look what happened. I do expect you to sing the rainbow, and hug cute puppies, but I realise it may take a little time before you're on the road to the soft satisfying creamy core of life.

That would depend on how intoxicated you are.

Nice to hear Momo is back. Doesnt sound like you have had too good a time of it though. Make sure you dont go too far the other way... Those kinds of people always find Jesus in the end, then become terrible, terrible company.
"Son," he said without preamble, "never trust a man who doesn't drink, because he's probably a self-righteous sort, a man who thinks he knows right from wrong all the time. Some of them are good men, but in the name of goodness, they cause most of the suffering in the world. They're the judges, the meddlers. And, son, never trust a man who drinks but refuses to get drunk. They're usually afraid of something deep down inside, either that they're a coward or a fool or mean and violent. You can't trust a man who's afraid of himself. But sometimes, son, you can trust a man who occasionally kneels before a toilet. The chances are that he is learning something about humility and his natural human foolishness, about how to survive himself. It's damned hard for a man to take himself too seriously when he's heaving his guts into a dirty toilet bowl.

I got the same email. It was very sweet and not your typical "You haven't logged in for 6 months. Do so now else we'll delete your account".

Good to see you all. I really wanna try and stick around this time. I've missed you guys and I hope you're all well!
